The Technology Specialist III is a senior level engineer with expertise in multiple IT areas, who identifies and initiates solutions to complex or systematic problems, analyzes business plans and strategy to define technology vision. This may involve leading or directing others in problem resolution involving programming, interface and product design, platform development, infrastructure and interactions with multiple systems.

  • Apply your deep technology expertise to ensure that all areas across the organization that touch various technologies have the necessary tools, processes and documentation they need to operate effectively.
  • Execute on Mount Sinai’s Technology's strategy as it relates to the introduction of tools and the automation of build, test, release and configuration across application, platforms and infrastructure.
  • Partner with multiple operational teams to automatically integrate with appropriate tools and processes as part of automated/self-serve application, platform or Infrastructure releases.
  • Apply an in-depth understanding of relevant business needs and work with technology partners to identify and leverage synergies across the various areas.
  • Draw on best practices and your knowledge of internal and external business issues to improve products or services.
  • Monitor and control costs associated with the work you do.
  • Be prepared to collaborate with governance and control groups (e.g. regulatory and operational risk, compliance and audit), provide your subject matter expertise and consult on risk issues related to Engineering technology and tools.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of external development, engineering and emerging solutions, market conditions and their impact.
  • Design, implement and maintain SAN/NAS storage appliances/solutions for use by cloud and other compute infrastructure. Including Storage Consolidation, Backup and Disaster Recovery Solution in line with defined strategy.
  • Work closely with members of the IT management team to select technology platforms and provide input to long term planning and architecture for storage resources.
  • Work with storage-attached systems, disk arrays, FibreChannel switches, NAS appliances, tape libraries, servers, and various storage and backup related software products.
  • Bachelors degree in a technical discipline; Masters degree preferred .
  • 8 years minimum experience (higher preferred), 12 years of related experience, including a demonstrated ability in technology area. In-depth knowledge of associated technology areas that could impact area of responsibility; healthcare technology experience preferred.
  • Minimum 7+ years of storage management experience in large enterprises, designing, building, and administering storage infrastructure solutions.
