The Switchboard Operator provides the patient with the first glimpse of Panorama. They extend a listening ear and anticipate the needs of the patient by surpassing their expectations with exceptional customer service. They are prompt and courteous with our patients and partnering facilities. The right person for this role will be team oriented, service-minded and empathetic in their approach to our patients and their families.
Telephone communication support for the entire clinic to ensure the patients and team members calls are routed appropriately. First line answers all incoming calls and directs to various departments.
Essential Functions
· Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers through prompt response and courteous communication.
- Channels all incoming calls and routes calls to appropriate departments.
- Responds to emergency calls according to established procedures.
- Courteously communicates general clinic information.
- Organizes and efficiently handles switchboard material.
- Facilitates outside physician-to-physician inquiries
- Scans urgent Medical Record documentation
- Transcribes referrals of new and established patients
Key Qualifications
o Excellent customer service and computer skills.
o Exceptional communication skills.
o Ability to organize and prioritize.
Other Requirements
o Previous experience in medical office preferred.
Knowledge/Skills Abilities Required
· High School Diploma preferred.
· Strong customer service skills.
· Ability to multi-task.
· This person must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public.
Pay Information: $14.80 to $22.21/hour, based on experience.
