Supernatural AI - Full Stack Developer - Romania - Remote

Requirements

Supernatural AI is seeking a Full Stack Developer who can help lead the back-end development, encompassing database design and management, API design and implementation, and management of server environments and deployment pipelines. The candidate also must be able to assist in front-end development and feel comfortable working with React + TypeScript. A significant portion of the front-end behavior involves loading and manipulating data from custom application APIs as well as third-party data sources.

Given the small team size, each member needs to understand a little bit about all aspects of web development and be willing to jump around and help wherever is needed most at the time to reach product objectives.

In this role, you will:

• Audit current database and make recommendations for improvements
• Design relational database tables, indexes, triggers, functions, views
• Consolidate and improve app APIs for reading / writing app data and integrating 3rd party data
• Help manage server environments and deployment pipelines
• Improve developer experience and workflows - project set up and running locally
• Improve platform security
• Improve platform reliability

Working Hours ⏰: This is a full time position. The working hours are flexible with 2-3h of overlap with US time zone.

To excel in this role, you need:

• 3+ years of web development experience, covering both front-end and back-end aspects
• Relational database design and optimization expertise
• Proficiency in JavaScript
• Familiarity with TypeScript (or willingness to learn)
• Fluent in React and Nodejs
• Comfortable with Next.js, including app router, server actions, and server components (or willingness to learn)
• Experience designing and integrating REST APIs

Nice to have:

• Experience with Vercel ecosystem - Next.js, Turbo Repo, hosting
• Experience with AI, ML services or systems
• Marketing or advertising industry experience

The ideal candidate is:

• Able to collaborate on technical challenges, but also able to perform research and work independently
• Able to reasonably gauge effort and timing of technical tasks
• Able to pivot focus in response to rapidly changing requirements and priorities
• Able to communicate problems and pitfalls of team technical decisions and systems
