Summary 

The Partnerships and Philanthropy team (P&P) seeks an intern interested in learning how revenue raised through Foundations fits into the larger context of Save the Children’s fundraising and implementation. The intern will provide a range of research, writing, information management, and administrative support to our dynamic fundraising teams. In return, the individual will gain experience in fundraising strategy, partner cultivation and stewardship, and will develop a familiarity with current trends in philanthropy, international development, children’s issues, and the day-to-day operations of a large international non-governmental organization (INGO).

By supporting the Foundations team, the incumbent will gain a comprehensive understanding of fundraising through this key channel of philanthropic support.

 

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

In this section please list three to five duties performed in order of importance. The SOW must not be critical work and should focus on learning.

  • Conduct research/landscape analysis and present findings to the team(s) on philanthropic trends and priorities including (but not limited to) climate change, global health, US programming, education, humanitarian response, building economic resiliency, and gender equity.
  • Research alignment with existing and potential foundation donors.
  • Support for donor cultivation activities, including donor meetings, calls and/or roundtables.
  • Support and creative input for social media
  • Attend department, division and all-staff meetings, and participate as appropriate.
  • Other special projects as needed.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Must be an actively enrolled undergraduate, graduate or post-graduate student or have graduated within 6 months of start date
  • Possess strong written skills, solid interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team
  • Professional proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Professional proficiency with written and verbal communications in English

Classification:  Paid Intern

Part-time: Up to 24 hours per week   

Dates:  January 27, 2025 - April 18, 2025

Pay: $17.00 per hour
