What are we looking for?

SentinelOne is looking for a Staff FinOps Engineer for our growing FinOps team, a group of experts who use best-in-class tools to optimize financial operations. The FinOps team is the foundation of S1's ability to be predictable, cost-effective, and has a direct connection to the company's growth & financial success.

You will collaborate with product engineering teams to help them make cost-effective decisions, design cost projection models to ensure financial success, analyze costs to understand root causes, and lead critical team projects to improve cost allocation efficiency. This role requires high collaboration with senior management and various S1 departments, including Finance, IT, Operations, Pricing & Product Engineering.

What will you do?

  • Providing timely visibility into cloud spend, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency.
  • Providing forward-looking projections on spend, including impacts of customer growth, product expansion and adoption, & region expansion and adoption.
  • Implementing and maintaining financial governance and controls across cloud platforms.
  • Leveraging deep technical expertise to provide and manage strategic and tactical actions to improve margins, reduce spend, and enable growth.
  • Providing Reserved Instances & Commitments models purchase recommendations to Management & Finance.
  • Partnering with various teams to build automation for observability, monitoring, and enforcement.
  • Tracking & Maintaining cloud cost-leading KPIs.

What skills and knowledge should you bring?

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in FinOps Engineering / Cloud Engineering with years of demonstrated professional expertise in FinOps Engineering.
  • Deep understanding of cloud platforms and pricing models.
  • Knowledge of financial principles, budgeting & forecasting.
  • Proven analytical skills and experience with cost optimization and cost management in AWS, GCP & Azure.
  • Experience analyzing costs in Anodot, Harness, Athena, BigQuery or similar tools.
  • Deep understanding of Networking & Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration & problem-solving skills.
  • Possess extraordinary written and verbal communication skills.
  • A constant learner and a growth mindset.
  • A team player, who thrives in a collaborative environment.
  • Team player ready to collaborate within and beyond our FinOps organization.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Coding experience in Python.
  • Relevant certifications in FinOps, cloud computing, or financial management are a plus.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.

This U.S. role has a base pay range that will vary based on the location of the candidate.  For some

locations, a different pay range may apply.  If so, this range will be provided to you during the recruiting

Base Salary Range$148,000—$204,000 USD
