RRD is seeking an experienced (Contingent) Sr. UX Designer to join our team!!
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior UX Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading user experience design efforts across a variety of projects, collaborating with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative and user-centered design solutions. You will lead strategies and discussions on user-centered design, design thinking and user research methodologies in a client-facing environment. You will work on cross-functional, large-scale projects, contributing to the development and execution of impactful digital experiences. You will also have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and contribute to the growth and evolution of our design system and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead UX Design Initiatives
- Drive end-to-end UX design process, from research and ideation to final execution and delivery of designs across multiple platforms.
- Create high-quality wireframes, prototypes, and interactive mockups to visualize design concepts and communicate design intent effectively.
- Expert in user research methodologies and the user-centered design process, with a strong ability to identify research opportunities and drive them forward. Skilled at facilitating workshops in client-facing environments and leading consultative strategies with stakeholders.
- Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure that designs are feasible, aligned with product goals, and meet business objectives. Deep knowledge of Design Ops and the processes therein.
- Lead and contribute to large-scale, cross-functional projects, collaborating with diverse and offshore teams, including engineering, marketing, data, and business stakeholders. Ensure alignment and successful execution of the design vision across various departments and project phases.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a cohesive design system, ensuring consistency and usability across all product touchpoints.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and best practices, and proactively seek opportunities to innovate and improve the user experience of our products.
- Collaborate with marketing, content, and other teams to ensure consistent branding and messaging across all digital experiences.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of professional UX design experience, with a portfolio that showcases a strong understanding of user-centered design principles and successful projects across web and mobile platforms.
- Proficiency in UX/UI design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar. Experience with prototyping tools like Axure or Framer is a plus.
- Proven ability to conduct user research, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing. Comfortable analyzing user data and translating findings into actionable design improvements.
- Proven experience in leading and contributing to large-scale, cross-functional design projects, collaborating with multiple departments to ensure alignment and successful execution across all project stages.
- Strong ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to bring designs to life and ensure project success.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex design challenges while balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business objectives.
- Experience leading design projects, providing guidance to junior designers, and working in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) or familiarity with development processes and technical constraints.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices and WCAG guidelines.
- Experience working in Agile environments or with product teams in iterative design cycles.
- Experience with motion design or interaction design.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A creative mindset with a focus on innovation and continuous learning.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to balance long-term vision and immediate project needs.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Additional Information
RRD's current salary range for this role is $70-$90/hour. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
