Job Description

We are looking for a talented Senior QA Engineer – Web Platform who will utilize a modern technology stack to update and maintain our responsive websites. This role entails leading testing efforts for the Web Platform team and supporting projects while pushing the automation efforts forward to in-sprint coverage and delivery.

This position reports to the QA Manager - Web Platform.  You will leverage your expertise in technology to meticulously select the latest technologies, automation frameworks, and design patterns for implementation. Your role will involve providing visionary solutions and mentoring a dedicated team of QA engineers tasked with testing web applications (automation and manual testing) that connect with our families.

Additionally, they demonstrate a strong partnership within the Web Platform team, ensuring alignment between technological innovation and product development goals. 

What you will do:

  • Owner and champion for product quality within the team.
  • Accountable for an assessment of product readiness and commitments on product delivery schedules
  • Mentor Junior QA Engineers on the Web Platform teams, providing strategic guidance and direction, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation, while lifting skills to expedite automation testing coverage
  • Partner with other QA Engineers and Team leadership to review and critique of technical requirements and software design specifications and software implementation
  • Proficient in understanding business and technical requirements. Actively contribute to the creation of accurate and testable Acceptance Criterias
  • Manage and lead test execution, defect reporting and provide comprehensive status reports to team leadership
  • Responsible for leading the execution of Web Platform’s technical strategy and roadmap - creating success metrics in close collaboration with other Engineering team members
  • Champion whole team quality approach guiding team management on accountability and growth opportunities on roadmap deliverables.
  • Part of an on-call rotation with team members to cover any Production issues as they arise
  • Participate in Sprint Releases
  • Assist the dev team in the analysis of defects and track them to successful resolution

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or  Engineering or 5+ years of experience in automated and/or manual Software testing (front-end and back-end) with a strong understanding and application agile of software quality and testing methodologies/processes
  • Experience with any JS test automation frameworks (e.g., NodeJs,  Cucumber-WebdriverIO, Appium, Selenium, Cypress-Cucumber, Mocha, Protractor and willingness to learn new tools as necessary), Cypress and WebdriverIO is preferred
  • Strong ability to debug code, analyzes failures, and trace defects to the root cause within automation testing framework
  • Experience in automation and manual testing of Web services (Rest, GraphQL) using API testing tools such as Postman, GraphQL Playground or similar tools
  • Well versed with concepts of Performance & Load Testing with K6 and/or JMeter is desirable
  • Experience with database technologies like: MySQL / PostgreSQL / MongoDB / Elasticsearch along with a knowledge of Database testing
  • Strong understanding of SEO, CWV, and strategies for driving organic traffic growth.
  • Experience practicing contemporary software development methodologies: Agile, Scrum, XP, etc. with a clear focus on app security, performance & maintainability.
  • Experience with Google Core Web Vitals
  • Experience with organic SEO concepts and paid marketing campaigns (SEM)
  • Understanding of AWS Services, Docker Containers, and CI/CD is a plus

Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $130k - $160k base
  • Bonus: 10% Management Bonus
