Hybrid flexible are roles that can be performed remotely but require some level of onsite work/in-person interactions on a regular basis, require employees to live within a commutable distance and, since business needs vary by position and may change over time, managers will set expectations and flexibility regarding where and when work is performed.

Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely, require employees to live in approved states and will have purpose-driven in-person interactions on occasion.

Job Summary

PSE&G is seeking a new member for the Technical Training team within the Transformation & Centralized Service organization at our Edison NJ location.  The team performs analysis, design, development and evaluation of technical training for PSE&G’s Operator Qualification.  The successful candidate will advance the training that supports a safe, skilled and efficient utility work force working in concert with a team of training professionals.

Job Responsibilities

  • The candidate must enjoy providing client service, be a team player, and excel in communicating both verbally and in writing.
  • High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are also important for effective collaboration with fellow instructors and the entire Technical Training team.
  • The position works with OQ process owners and process improvement managers across the utility to establish process efficiency.  Therefore, the position requires strong internal and external relationship building skills and behaviors.
  • The role is responsible to conduct the instruction and learning evaluation required to provide apprentice and incumbent employees & contractor personnel (as required) with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform operations, installation and maintenance service on natural gas distribution systems in accordance with job specifications, contract obligations, PSE&G’s Operator Qualification Written Plan and regulatory requirements. 
  • Additional duties include the tracking, recording, and reporting of the daily OQ completions, working in a team environment to develop OQ training, conduct analytical research to reconcile actual OQ results and allocations, support updating the OQ Written Plan, OEM documents, and other processes.
  • Candidate must be available in case of a storm emergency by periodically being on call for assignment by the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:
BS/BA degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Math or Accounting.
Over 7 years of related Operator Qualification experience.
At least 5 years of indirect supervisory experience or 3 years of supervisory experience.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Exceptional skills in software packages appropriate for the department (MS Office software) supporting data analysis.
Skills in data visualization and communication.
Relevant work experience that demonstrates an ability to train and assess.
Independent work prioritization.
Strong understanding and use of SuccessFactors LMS.
Ability to build strong relationships with clients.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong planning and organizing skills must be adaptable and be results-oriented.
Ability to lead assignments and analytical teams and provide guidance and oversight to OQ Administration Associates on projects or work assignments.
Provide leadership through peer-to-peer coaching/guidance for junior staff.
Understand and explain key training metrics associated with the Manager’s Dashboard.
Desired:
MS/MA degree in education, training, or instructional design.
Knowledge /experience or the ability to learn evolving systems, such as assessment facilitation, need/task analysis, instructional design/development, and instructional evaluation.
Ability to facilitate joint union / management assessment teams.
Supervisory and / or project management related experience.
Experience in Learning Management System use and data management / reporting.
Experience in alternative training delivery methods, including automated, computer-based or virtual / augmented reality applications.
Process Improvement skills / LSS Green Belt.
