Senior Email & Lifecycle Operations Manager - Remote

About the team & opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Email & Lifecycle Operations Manager with the unique ability to combine operational merit and process optimization with the proficiency to oversee our email campaign strategy and parts of our broader lifecycle experimentation. As a member of our Growth Marketing Team, reporting to our Manager of Lifecycle Marketing and working closely with our Head of Growth Marketing, you’ll manage the end to end execution of Calendly’s email marketing initiatives to level-up our campaign-based email sends. In addition to improving efficiency and quality when sending large volumes of email, this role includes technical ownership of email tools, an analytical mindset to monitor the performance of email and lifecycle experiments, building complex and strategic email nurture programs, and the ability to establish superior email practices that drive our business goals forward.

Ready to define what email looks like at Calendly, and work with a fun bunch of tenacious individuals that treat each other as equals? Come join our team!

A day in the life of a Senior Email & Lifecycle Operations Manager at Calendly

On a typical day, you will:

  • Oversee Calendly’s email request process and be the “air traffic controller” of our email marketing calendar to create winning campaigns that delight users and prospects and ensure a succinct and impactful email experience.
  • Partner closely with our Marketing Operations team to review email builds, monitor SLAs, and ensure email best practices are implemented prior to launch.
  • Leverage performance data, experimentation insights, and the latest email trends to review and recommend email copy and design changes that will level-up our email programs (preferably with the ability to build out new HTML/CSS email designs when needed)
  • Establish a Center of Excellence for emails at Calendly, including email templates, naming conventions, list health, and a data dictionary, to streamline our email processes. (familiarity with Hightouch, Segment, or similar data tools is a plus)
  • Partner with our Marketing Analytics Team to report on and share email performance data, deliverability health, and risk metrics on a recurring basis, with ability to translate the data into actionable next steps (familiarity with Amplitude, Tableau, or similar data tools is a plus).
  • Strategize, build, and launch complex lifecycle nurture programs with dynamic content and unique audience segmentation, directly supporting Lifecycle and Growth Marketing goals.
  • Support our international expansion strategy through our integration with Lilt (Calendly’s localization vendor) and plans to localize existing emails.

What do we need from you?

  • 5+ years in the CRM/email marketing space, with a concentration in operational efficiency and analytics. Preferably with experience using Braze and/or Marketo email marketing tools (or similar software)
  • Ability to ruthlessly prioritize and understand the “why” to drive outcomes that matter to the business, and leverage data to make clear and thoughtful recommendations.
  • Err on the side of overcommunication, with a natural ability to influence peers and superiors.
  • Determined to overcome obstacles in a matrixed environment and is comfortable with the unknown.
  • Data savviness, seeking to better understand the performance of campaigns by working with our Marketing Analytics Team.
  • Can identify when to pivot based on the goal and business needs, and easily orchestrate content change management and audience change management.
  • Extremely detail oriented and customer-focused.
  • Preferred (but not required) experience with:
    • Braze and Marketo email software
    • HTML/CSS email design and template building
    • Hightouch, Segment, or similar data tools
    • Amplitude, Tableau, or similar data tools
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time.
