Research Scientist II

AIS has an opening for a Research Scientist II. In this role, youâll join a team of researchers focusing on several state-of-the-art efforts spanning Reinforcement Learning, Anomaly Detection, Natural Language Processing, and other Machine Learning concepts. Along with your research, youâll have the opportunity to propose and contribute to new ideas for which will help further R&D within the industry. Please note, this position requires an active Top-Secret clearance.Â
How Youâll Succeed
To succeed in this role, youâll need to work collaboratively with other researchers within the team to solve challenging machine learning problems. To do this, youâll need to apply novel and theoretical techniques to develop machine learning models and related supporting software. In addition to R&D, youâll contribute to technical status reporting, deliverables, and research publications.Â
Who You Are
Youâre naturally curious, like solving difficult problems with creative and novel solutions, and enjoy staying abreast of the current state-of-the-art by conducting relevant literature reviews. Additionally, youâre able to self-direct, work independently, and as part of a team, and have a strong understand of mathematics and/or various machine learning concepts.
Your Expertise
- You have a bachelorâs degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline and 2 yearsâ experience in an engineering or scientific function, including research OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- You have an active Top-Secret clearance (Poly preferred)Â
- You have 1 year experience with Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent scripting languages
- You have 1 year experience in conducting research
- You have 0â1-year experience with Reinforcement Learning, Anomaly Detection or Natural Language Processing
What Sets You Apart
- You have a strong understanding of probability, statistics, and linear algebra
- Youâre able to travel 10% of the time
