We are searching for a Planner I to join our team. The Planner I will be responsible for managing orders including assemble-to-order, make-to-stock, and make-to-order. The position will require you to develop and maintain inventory replenishment strategies utilizing material-requirements-planning, return-oriented programming and Kanban pull systems as well as the stocking programs for long lead-time items. It is essential to the role for you to revise production schedules when required due to Engineering Change (EC) notices and labor or material fluctuations, while collaborating with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain Planning. Some additional day-to-day items will include releasing work orders to departments, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery of goods, participating in daily Gemba walks and hosting and participating in regular kaizen events.
Essential Functions:
- Create and manage leveled production schedule for assigned Value Stream(s).
- Conduct capacity planning for material-supply and production work centers.
- Prepare and release production schedules and monitor daily / weekly schedule adherence.
- Ensure replenishment strategies support operational excellence objectives (Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.)
- Maintain Supermarket and Point-of-Use inventory levels to meet business objectives.
- Manage Value Stream inventories. Create, monitor, and distribute inventory reports.
- Create, monitor, and distribute material availability reports for assigned Value Stream(s).
- Work with Sourcing to ensure all supplier sourcing decisions net the lowest total cost to our business while upholding supply and quality requirements, and design specifications.
- Coordinate daily with all levels of the supply chain including Suppliers, Purchasing, Traffic, and the Warehouse.
- Create, analyze, monitor, and distribute Value Stream metrics and key performance indicators.
- Maintain compliance, enterprise resource planning master data, and transactional data as required.
- Plan inter-plant supply requirements and delivery schedules.

Qualifications:
- Required: APICS certification or 2-4 years of equivalent work experience
- Working knowledge of TPS and Lean Manufacturing best practices. (A3, VSM, Pull Systems, Standard Work, 5S)
- Materials Requirements Planning (MRP)
- ERP experience in a vertically integrated, multi-plant environment. SAP a plus
