Market Development Representative

The Red Hat Market Development team is looking for a Market Development Representative to join us in Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for working with the Marketing and Sales teams to contact prospective sales leads, qualify them, and set up appointments for Red Hat’s sales teams. This entails following up on inbound leads as well as cold prospecting. Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Follow up on inbound marketing leads

  • Cross collaborative work with the Sales and Marketing teams to uncover sales leads in new territories through cold calls

  • Identify customer’s business needs and communicate how Red Hat's offerings can address those needs

  • Collaborate with the Sales team on account strategy

  • Make extensive use of successful prospecting techniques to generate customer interest

  • Develop understanding of Red Hat's technology, offerings, pricing, and licensing procedure

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, management, information systems, marketing, communications, or related field of study work experience or academic projects in sales, marketing, or information systems

  • Public speaking and presentation skills

  • Knowledge of sales techniques and systems like Salesforce.com (SFDC) or Outreach

  • Willingness to travel as needed

  • Excellent communication, problem solving, time management, and interpersonal skills

  • Positive attitude

  • Demonstrated success in previous roles

  • Desire to make a positive impact on Red Hat's strategic mission

  • Curiosity to learn and grow

  • Ability to work and learn on your own, as well as on a team

  • Ability to understand customer issues and needs and link them to Red Hat's offerings

  • Ability to discuss key industry issues at multiple levels within an organization

  • Motivated with the ability to work under strict deadlines

The salary range for this position is $69,530.00 - $104,230.00 (inclusive of base pay + target incentive compensation). Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
