In the United States, we have a flexible hybrid work policy for employees who live within 30 miles of our office headquartered in New York City. Employees within the New York Metropolitan area are expected to work from the NYC office twice a week, unless there is a job-specific requirement to be in the office every workday. Employees outside of this area are considered part of our remote-first workforce. We believe our hybrid approach for those near our NYC office increases productivity through more in-person collaboration where possible.

The Department: Neo Banking

The Role: Manager, Credit Risk

We are looking for a Credit Risk Manager to join our Risk / Neo Banking department. They will be responsible for building and leading Gemini’s credit risk function and managing multiple new initiatives. The candidate will fill a senior level position and will be responsible for building a team under them as the operations scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Help establish a strategic plan for the company including setting acceptable risk levels and assessing the credit risk of the target market
  • Develop an underwriting model based on the strategic plan and test it for accuracy, predictability, and effectiveness
  • Prepare full governance documents for the model including the structure, variables, weights, and execution process
  • Test and report on the model’s effectiveness on a consistent basis
  • Report and track metrics on a consistent basis to ensure acceptable risk
  • Oversee account management functions including credit line management, minimum payment, and delinquencies
  • Develop and manage key vendor relationships
  • Partner with our Fraud Management team to identify and combat patterns of credit fraud

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience in consumer credit risk management
  • Proven ability to apply credit and risk principles toward business goals
  • Prior experience developing and managing vendor relationships

  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Excellent analytical and numerical capacity
  • Ability to balance and execute on competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong sense of personal accountability
  • Passion for startups, new technology, and cryptocurrency

Salary Range: The base salary range for this role is between $137,000 - $172,000 in the State of New York, the State of California and the State of Washington. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
