The Role
IT Global Infrastructure & End User Support is looking for an experienced project manager and coordinator to oversee multiple projects and ongoing operations as our end-user base continues to grow.  The role will be hands-on in multiple infrastructure technologies and require excellent data gathering and analytical analysis.  This position will facilitate collaboration and coordination between multiple teams and global regions within Veeva along with key vendors and value-added resellers. The Infrastructure Project manager will need to lead operational projects and tasks, coordinate the correct resources, and follow through until completion.  These projects and tasks can vary from enterprise software and service rollouts to managing end-user deployments to the global workforce. This role will be highly visible and a key position within IT at Veeva, ensuring that projects and tasks are effectively executed, details managed, and teams kept focused, energized, and on track to meet their objectives. This role can be based in our Columbus, OH office or remote work allowed if needed.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects and operational tasks within the Global IT Infrastructure department, including: project charters, milestones, work breakdown, scope, end-user training, and change management.
  • Work collaboratively with business leaders, regional teams, and software application project managers to develop the best plan to deliver technology solutions.
  • Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor and summarize progress with weekly status updates to stakeholders, and manage costs.
  • Measure and distribute metrics.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved. Direct and assist the work of others on the project team as needed.
  • Communicate plans and infrastructure concepts to regional IT teams and business units.
  • Understand and lead asset management and service desk documentation changes.
  • Assist at the project idea stage to gather requirements from end-users and business teams to evaluate objectives, goals, and scope to create technical specifications.
  • Serve as the liaison between IT and the business departments to ensure that all targets and requirements are met.
  • Work under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science or Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years in systems and project management, including building workflow maps, project timelines, and artifacts
  • Strong practical experience in IT service-desk based organizations (ITIL/ITSM foundations preferred)
  • Strong background in Help Desk and support systems, including incident management
  • Highly organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Demonstrate a good grasp of clear, concise, and precise technical writing.
  • Experience delivering projects and technology deployments for more than 2,000 users
  • Must have the ability to effectively manage changing priorities, and in doing so, clearly assess and communicate impacts to other team projects & commitments.
  • Must be able to manipulate and merge data from multiple systems
  • Solid understanding of SaaS platforms and services.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, charts, etc.)
  • Microsoft Project, Smartsheets, JIRA or similar project management software
  • Complex problem-solving and ability to work well under minimal supervision
  • Operates with the highest of ethical standards.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States

Nice to Have

  • Project Management Certification and/or Licensed Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • ITSM/ITIL Certifications.
  • Global project management experience.
