This position is aligned to support the ongoing needs of the Business Accounting/Finance and IT organization through the integration of SAP as a cross-functional team member. Supports end-users with their day-to-day issues and questions. Participates in ongoing SAP project work, including but not limited to: enhancements, efficiencies, acquisition integration support, and end-user training.  Provides supervisory guidance to Accounting Business Architects and other team members. 


  • Production support for FSCD and ISL
  • Maintenance of SAP FSCD and ISL
  • SAP Incident research and resolution
  • Assist end users with day-to-day issues and questions
  • Develop expertise in supporting SAP FS-CD, activities including:
  • Mapping of Acquisition Lift and Move Systems Coordinates research, information gathering and solutioning among various teams (Reinsurer, Annuity Operational Accounting, Financial Reporting, SAP Team and Project Consultants)Makes recommendations on best practices
  • Coordinate FS-CD testing review process – work with end users on system and posting review
  • Assist in defining, developing, designing, and implementing on-going FS-CD projects
  • Participate in development and roll-out of end-user training
  • Provide guidance, direction, and feedback to FSCD team members related to their job duties.
  • Leads the team by creating a schedule of tasks by team member by month.
  • Serves as the SAP liaison for administrative system upgrades for systems that are remaining in the ISL/GL format.   
  • Leads other non-FSCD projects (ex SAP Upgrades, Disaster Recovery, Audits)
  • Cross Training Support for SAP S/4 HANA Cross-functional team
  • Other related duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance and/or Information Technology
  • 5-7 years of Accounting, Finance or Financial System experience
  • Experience writing functional/technical specifications
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills – both verbal and written
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of finance business processes and linkage to finance and non-finance systems
  • Solid organizational skills to meet service objectives despite complexities of work
  • Ability to acquire new skills and adapt quickly
  • Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities  
  • Detail-oriented

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP Financial Systems Collections and Disbursements (FS-CD) experience
  • Insurance Accounting and Operations experience preferred
  • Advanced accounting degree/designation including MBA, CPA, CFA, etc.
  • Solid understanding of Insurance Products including Life, Annuity and Separate Accounts
  • Experience working with IT systems, developers and business analysts during project development and testing stages
Protective’s targeted salary range for this position is $75,000 to $95,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective’s total compensation package for employees.This position also offers additional incentive opportunities [through an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance] OR [through cash compensation as part of a sales incentive plan (SIP).
