The RoleWe are looking for a hands-on Software Development Engineer in Test with proven models, testing expertise combined with exceptional partnering skills to shape the quality of current testing capability requirements. To assist in identifying existing gaps, and to develop policies, guidelines, and best practices. This is a fully remote role.

Who you are

• Develop test automation capabilities including automation frameworks, infrastructure and commercial tools
• Solution for and integrate with automated test data and service virtualization
• Identify testing capability requirements, gaps in existing capabilities, conducting R&D, carry out POCs, and support them through business case approvals
• Develop & deploy integrated reporting mechanism reducing manual intervention
• Support adoption of automate first approach and Continuous Testing framework
• Governance oversight for automation effectiveness & efficiencies
• Develop, deploy and analyze automation metrics & KPIs around automation effectiveness & efficiencies
• Develop policies, guidelines and best practices for compliant automation solutions
• Evangelize Continuous Testing framework (capabilities and practices) and enforce standards
• Conduct ongoing reviews of automation solution, ensuring they are bug free and compliant

What we need

• Must be strong in one of the programming languages: Java, C#, python etc.
• Sound knowledge of SQL/PL-SQL, stored procedures, and SQL server database
• PowerShell and batch scripting experience (would be an asset)
• Expert knowledge and hands on expertise on variety of test automation tools, frameworks and CI/CD tools
• Strong background implementing and/or using industry standard performance testing and automation tools like JMeter, Blaze Meter, Load runner etc.
• Well-rounded understanding of all test types (functional/non-functional) and delivery methodologies
• Good understanding of DevOps or TestOps concepts
• Good understanding of cloud and containerization concepts – hands on experience preferred
• Strong communication skills a must. Effective communication & ability to summarize and explain technical concepts to both specialists and non-specialists for buy in.
• Experience working with performance engineering tools like AppDynamics, Dynatrace or similar to capture and analyze information to identify performance issues
• Execute and monitor load tests to verify that the application meets designated performance requirements
• Document defects related to the application and system performance in applicable tracking tools
• Ability to work with development and architecture teams on identification and troubleshooting of performance related issues
• Comprehensive Reports covering key observations & recommendations, with a graphical representation of client-side statistics such as Response time, HPS, throughput, and more, as well as server-side statistics such as CPU, memory utilization, I/O, & network usage.
