We're seeking an instructional designer with a background in secondary science education. This individual should have a proven track record of creating materials for teacher training and professional development that elevates instructional value and product relevance at an education technology company. This position is part of the BrainPOP Learning Design team, supporting our professional learning services professional development program and reporting to the Director of Learning Design, STEM.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop customized professional learning experiences to support teachers and administrators
  • Create in-product materials using best practices in instructional design
  • Develop messaging and materials to share with sales, marketing, and professional learning services team to support BrainPOP Science sales, training, and professional development
  • Create teacher support content for publication on BrainPOP Educators website
  • Strategize with learning designers, professional development specialists, and implementation specialists to ensure training materials meet the needs of our customers
  • Incorporate feedback and data to improve training materials and overall PLS services and BrainPOP products.

Key skills for success

  • Deeply knowledgeable in best practices in Instructional Design and learning models
  • 5+ years of experience designing online learning experiences and content for teacher training and professional development
  • Experience developing media and/or interactive resources to support a suite of online and in-product trainings
  • Deeply knowledgeable of approaches to teaching and learning multidimensional science
  • Strong writing and editing skills with experience creating training materials
  • Fluent in professional learning best practices, both online and in person
  • A passionate advocate for best practice in teaching and learning middle science
  • Empathic to the needs of students and teachers
  • Able to build strategies from the ground up, as well as committed to iterating on existing processes and solutions.
