We are looking for a QA Engineer, Software to work on guitar and bass amplifiers. You will have a chance to learn from our current testing practices, and to join us in discovering what comes next.

You are a Tester who:

  • Is a self-starter with a proven history of continuous learning
  • Knows music gear, and is excited by the prospect of working on guitar and bass amps for a living
  • Thinks logically, and acts based on the facts
  • Has experience creating test scripts for software projects
  • Believes everything can be automated

What you’ll do:

  • Participates as a member of a product-focused SCRUM agile team
  • With guidance from the QA Lead, implements test plans for embedded software products 
  • Writes test scripts for repeatability and catching problems early
  • Collaborates with hardware team to define and build lab test units
  • Executes any manual testing required
  • Documents bugs while writing clear steps to reproduce the issues
  • Help maintain automated builds and software releases
  • Propose, document, and implement better ways of doing things

What you’ll need:

  • 2+ years professional software testing experience
  • 1+ years scripting experience (python, java, C#, or other high-level languages)
  • Experience using Linux, including the command line
  • Associate’s degree or higher. CE/CSE, CS, EE preferred.

Bonus Points:

  • Music related hobby projects
  • Experience using CI tools like TeamCity, Jenkins, Github Actions, or Circle CI
  • Experience using automated testing tools like Catch2, PyTest, Appium, or Robot Framework
  • Automated display testing
  • Android and iOS testing experience
  • BLE, WiFi, and Bluetooth Streaming testing experience
  • Experience with scripting languages like BASH and python
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems
  • Experience debugging embedded systems
  • Familiarity with embedded peripherals like GPIO, UART, I2C, SPI, ADC, etc
  • Familiarity with USB device classes such as UAC2, HID, and UMS
  • Understanding of DSP fundamentals, familiarity with amp modeling and effects algorithms
