Job summary
The Amazon Kids+ portable devices team is looking for a passionate and solution-oriented Business Analyst to run analytical solutions that deepen our collective understanding of customers, influence our products, and deliver actionable insights across our Tablet, Kindle and Mobile businesses. Amazon has a culture of data-driven decision-making which requires insights and recommendations that are timely, accurate, and actionable. At Amazon, you will be working in one of the world's largest and most complex data environments.
The ideal candidate has outstanding business acumen, a restlessness to answer “why?” questions, excellent technical skills, strong analytical abilities, superior written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams. He/she will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big (while paying careful attention to detail), approach work iteratively, and will enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment. He/she will work closely with product managers, engineering leaders, marketing, and senior leadership to help drive business results.

Key job responsibilities
  • Build scalable solutions/self-serve platforms that will provide data/KPIs to inform business decision making across the Tablet, Kindle and Mobile businesses.
  • Investigate data sources across Amazon and expand device data infrastructure
  • Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations that will help influence both product and feature roadmaps
  • Create customer segmentation and targeting capabilities, enabling teams to understand feature adoption and customer engagement trends.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of customer behavior, competitive product trends, and business drivers to inform decision making
  • Collaborate with product and marketing managers as a leader of ongoing analytical support

A day in the life
A typical day likely involves working across product management and engineering to translate a question/topic into an analytical request, understanding the best data and aggregations to answer the question, and working with other analysts or peers to run the analysis and make a recommendation.
