As a Principal Product Manager, Technical in BRP, you will be responsible for defining the long-term product strategy and vision to address worldwide payment risk. You will own several multi-year projects to deliver improvements in payment fraud detection and prevention. You will be working closely with multiple business teams to understand challenges and opportunities as well as with highly talented Technology and Machine Learning teams to deliver next generation technologies. You will interact with a broad cross section of the Amazon organization as you clarify ambiguous issues and negotiate effective solutions between development and business teams.

You will be responsible for developing new Payment Risk products focused on improving the speed and accuracy of machine learning models in new risk environments, determining how to leverage external data to improve risk models, and enabling new methods of risk detection across the shopping experience. You should have the technical depth to learn and understand the core technologies used to execute risk analysis to drive solutions that are effective and scalable. You should think big and be excited about the opportunity to not just optimize existing systems but also propose a bold vision for the future of payment risk prevention.

You should be an effective communicator capable of independently driving issues to resolution and communicating your ideas and insights to non-technical and technical audiences. This is a high impact role with goals that directly impacts the bottom line of the business.

The role requires a seasoned individual who has excellent experience as a Product Manager and comes from a similar highly technical risk management domain.

Basic Qualifications


· 8+ years of experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology
· Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
· Bachelor's Degree
· Experience with end to end product delivery
· Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
· Experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition
· 5+ years of experience in related positions
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or a related field of study.
· Demonstrated success leading project delivery for large, cross functional programs
· Demonstrated record of partnering with and influencing cross-functional teams. Experience working with engineering teams to define, scope and prioritize program requirements.


Preferred Qualifications

· Master’s degree in business, engineering or a related field.
· Experience in building customer-facing payments products
· Experience with product management for highly complex and latency sensitive software and machine learning environments.
· Strong bias for action and be able to work iteratively.
· Excellent analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Experience using data to illustrate business conclusions
· Desire to work in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous entrepreneurial culture
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
