About the Role

The Associate Product Manager - Governance and Compliance will work with a cross-functional team.  This is an individual contributor role that reports to the lead of our Product Governance and Compliance area.  This role will work extremely closely with other product managers as well as the sales, security, IT, alliances, and engineering organizations.  A major focus of this role will be supporting the growth of our U.S. Government business.  The successful candidate will need Federal security clearance (or eligibility to obtain Federal security clearance), have an interest in working on public sector business matters, and have the proven ability to learn quickly and work on projects that further our goals of building governance and compliance into our product DNA

In this role you an expect to:

  • Contribute to the product governance and compliance roadmap
  • Work with leadership to prioritize governance and compliance requirements in the product roadmaps
  • Conduct user research and write Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) to distill the research into requirements for engineering to deliver
  • Communicate product status to all partners
  • Help with sales and marketing collateral to educate on the product story and features (Website copy, whitepapers, sales decks, FAQs, etc.)
  • Intake and prioritization of sales product governance and compliance requirements
  • Read, perform analysis, and summarize new sales team requests for product compliance
  • Conduct product evaluation and testing in emulated government environments
  • Conduct user research with government representatives
  • Research and compile summaries of new compliance frameworks
  • Help with Federal product compliance initiatives like FISMA, FedRAMP, CMMC, etc.
  • Perform product WCAG accessibility testing and report writing

You may be a good fit for our team if you have:

  • Experience or an interest in supporting U.S. Federal and other governmental business is desired.  This role directly supports HashiCorp’s business with the U.S. Federal Government and other public sector customers.
  • Candidates with Federal security clearance are preferred, but eligibility to obtain Federal security clearance is required
  • Some technical experience with Linux, virtualization, cloud computing, infrastructure, open source, and/or DevOps
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Some familiarity with HashiCorp products (Terraform, Vault, Consul, Nomad, Packer, Vagrant) is desired, but not required
  • Experience drafting product requirements from user research
  • Aptitude to learn new skills quickly
  • Ability to explain complex ideas simply
  • Strong analytical reasoning, critical thinking, and experimentation skills
  • Awareness of and interest in product management
  • Interest in governance and compliance
  • BS/BA degree required
