We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to join our team for a 6 month part time contract (15-20 hours a week) to support our students on the daily basis.

What you'll do

  • Provide guidance and support the students on the daily basis as the need arises
  • Mentor and prepare Lambda School students as they get ready to finish their studies and embark on their job search
  • Develop material and practical assessments in order to support students to hit the ground running when they are hired
  • Develop an understanding of what companies expect from interviewers during technical and formal interviews in order to ensure that our students are prepared to succeed during an interview process
  • Lead the weekly Coding Challenge sessions for the  students
  • Create an environment of trust and support for students and guide them on their learning path on a daily basis

What you'll need:

  • If your highest education is High School Diploma or GED, you are required to have 5+ years of working experience in the software industry
  • If your highest education is a College Degree (proof required), you are required to have 3+ years of working experience in the technical field
  • 5+ years’ experience as an Engineering Manager or Technical Program Manager who has led teams
  • Experience hiring, managing growing a team of successful developers (ideally web developers)
  • Recent experience of coding and complete Code Signal successful in top ranks
  • Experience explaining technical concepts including front and backend concepts to support student learning
  • Experience generating challenging technical assignments to set students up to solve industry problems
  • Familiarity with the tech industry and the market for technical skill sets
  • Experience giving feedback in order to encourage and motivate students
  • Front and Backend experience (knows Javascript, Python,  React, Redux, NodeJS / Java, iOS knowledge (ideal but not prerequisite)
