Due to a new client project, we are urgently looking for a variety of Channel Marketing Manager to be based in Kuala Lumpur to work as part of a small, expanding but friendly team. The role could be part time or full time depending on the candidate. The projects cover India, South East Asia and Australia/New Zealand.

You will initially be working on client projects where you will be helping to drive the marketing efforts of partners on behalf of a well-known global IT brand. Other duties include projects in English, research, and on-going education and relationship building with partners. The ability to receive a brief in English and deliver in your focus region is a key element of the role along with confidence in dealing with decision makers within your partner’s organization.

Who is a Channel Marketing Manager?

In an industry where the only constant is evolution, an ideal Channel Marketing Manager needs to have a very strong understanding of what is happening in the marketplace and what influences people's buying decisions. They see the trends developing, they predict the market and proactively manage their brand message so it meets the consumer head on.

A great Channel Marketing Manager needs analytical and decision-making skills to choose media, creativity to develop promotional strategies and interpersonal skills to work with different personality types. Planning, directing and adjusting multiple campaigns calls for an ability to focus on details.

The day-to-day

  • Engagement with business owners and marketing managers
  • Enable and guide partners on Vendors programs and tool
  • Trouble shooting and escalating when needed
  • Work with sales leaders, business development leaders, and audience marketing leaders to develop effective field training and enablement tools including: presentations, whitepapers, market analyses, and structured programs that help all of the above be more effective
  • Establish metrics to effectively track, monitor, and measure alliance marketing impact aligned to business objectives
  • Take the salesperson’s perspective to identify gaps in our core and campaign materials to ensure that they are supported influencing their accounts
  • Regularly interact with key leaders to understand customer requirements and market perceptions in order to create and deliver compelling Amazon Web Services differentiators
  • What you’ll be doing

  • Support a network of IT partners and be the first point of contact, providing advice and support with the marketing tools available to them and how to effectively use those tools
  • Assist partners to become familiar with the product and program benefits and investigate to find out market requirements
  • Identify partner requirements and then use the provided materials to fulfil these to enable them to better promote and sell vendor products
  • As new campaigns and initiatives are launched, you will brief targeted business partners on the details and materials available
  • Prepare marketing plans and activities with partners and presenting to key stakeholders
  • Share feedback with the client on what resellers are asking for in order to grow their businesses
  • Keep in regular contact with your network of partners to maintain trusted relationship with key decision makers and become an extension of their team
  • Generate reports in MS Excel and prepare PowerPoint presentations to share updates with the local client team to keep them informed with progress

  • Requirements

  • Valid Visa that allows you to work in Malaysia
  • Senior roles require evidence of Partner Marketing, stakeholder management and an understanding of the IT Channel. Junior roles require basic marketing concepts, attention to detail and a great attitude
  • Experience working with India, South East Asia (SEA) or Australia/New Zealand (ANZ) markets
  • Ability to localise material from English briefs to regional delivery
  • Telephone based experience in Sales, Marketing and/or Customer Services advantageous
  • Business Level English, both written and spoken, with ability to adapt communication style to fit audience
  • Strong relationship building and telephone skills
  • Ability/confidence to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently, when required
  • Willingness to learn
  • Advantageous

  • Knowledge and/or experience of the IT channel
  • Knowledge of Salesforce & Mail Chimp
  • Channel knowledge – consisting of ISV, GSI & SI preferred
  • Language speaker ( Indonesia ,Mandarin ,Thai, Vietnamese ) are highly desired
