Would you like to be part of a team focused on increasing the adoption of Amazon Web Services with our customers in the EdTech industry? Do you have the business savvy and the technical background necessary to help establish Amazon Web Services as a key technology platform provider?

The EdTech team works with businesses delivering innovative software solutions to the Education market. We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Account Manager to manage a small number of large accounts for our EdTech team. These enterprise accounts are primarily based in Northern Virginia. The ideal candidate has a track record for overachieving quota while always working backwards from the customer needs. This individual should possess both a sales and technical background that enables them to drive an engagement at the CXO level, multiple lines of business (IT, Finance, Product, Sales, etc), as well as with software developers, engineers, and IT architects.

Roles & Responsibilities:

· Drive revenue and market share in a defined territory and industry vertical.

· Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts.

· Develop and execute against a comprehensive account/territory plan.

· Create & articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services.

· Accelerate customer adoption.

· Maintain a robust sales pipeline.

· Work with partners to extend reach & drive adoption.

· Manage contract negotiations.

· Ensure customer satisfaction

· Willing to travel 50%+ to customer locations within the Eastern U.S.


This position can work virtually in the DC metro area or an AWS office in Northern Virginia

Basic Qualifications


· 8+ years of technical sales to Enterprise accounts
· 5+ years of experience in business-to-business (B2B) software, including complex solutions selling Software as a Service or other cloud-based technologies
· Bachelor’s degree in tech or business or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

· Demonstrated ability to develop deep relationships with senior business and technical individuals with the client.
· Strong written communication skills
· High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations
· Experience and relationships in the Education and/or EdTech industry
· Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.
· Experience as the primary account manager working with enterprise customers selling across multiple business units and influencing governance and policy.Other experiences to include: experience in large complex deal negotiations with a successful track record; ability to navigate across AWS and the customer in a trusted advisor/consultative approach; establishing credibility quickly with senior level executives across the organizations.
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, analytical and presentation skills are required. Candidate must possess demonstrated decision making, problem solving, and negotiating skills.
· A strong understanding of AWS and/or technology as a service (Iaas,SaaS,PaaS) would be preferred but not required.
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity
