Social Media & Advocacy Strategist 8x8 is seeking a creative storyteller as their Social Media & Advocacy Strategist to be a part of the Content Marketing Team that sits within Corporate Communications. You’ll work directly with the Director, Content Marketing to create and implement a company-wide social media and digital thought leadership content strategy to generate brand engagement and build a community with our targeted audiences. The right candidate will be able to create engaging, short-form content that enables our social media and digital thought leadership platforms to drive traffic organically and grow engaged audiences within the industries we serve.  

Responsibilities

  • Create digital thought leadership content campaigns and strategies in partnership with the marketing team to support key business goals
  • Develop strategies to translate social interactions that drive increased awareness, positive brand perception, traffic and sales
  • Produce visual, short-form assets for social and digital content platforms including graphics, videos, and audio clips
  • Manage day-to-day social media content, engagement, and conversation
  • Maintain a social calendar that aligns with product launches, events and key brand and industry moments, and act quickly to take advantage of unplanned opportunities
  • Adapt and optimize marketing plans for specific social platforms
  • Keep up with industry trends to identify growth opportunities and potential partners
  • Ensure that a consistent brand voice is used across digital media and measure our effectiveness accordingly
  • Publish content to 8x8’s blog, social media profiles, and content advocacy platforms 

Qualifications and Skills

  • An instinct for telling creative, impactful stories
  • Witty, passionate, and able to quickly build rapport with others
  • Have a strong understanding of social platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok
  • A keen eye for visual aesthetics with a proven ability to understand and apply style guidelines when designing original graphics
  • Experience with producing and editing audio and video content
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Preferred Degree: BS/BA Degree in Communications, Design or Marketing, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in marketing, creative, social media, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Sprout Social, NewsCred, Dynamic Signal, a plus
