Description

Having successfully completed a Series B raise of $29M, Cobalt is seeking a passionate and driven BDR Manager to lead, manage and scale our BDR team. The team is one of the first interactions our prospects have with Cobalt and is responsible for driving qualified opportunities for the sales team to fuel company ARR. Your main focus will be ensuring the team is achieving their monthly and quarterly goals and delivering repeatable pipeline. You will actively coach your team, oversee hiring and onboarding, develop outbound best practice, and identify and execute on prospecting strategies and operational efficiencies. This role reports directly into our Director of Market Growth.

What You Would Do

  • Manage and provide day to day coaching to a team of BDRs and BDR Team Leads
  • Help your team master business development skills, including email and LinkedIn outreach, cold calling, and following up on inbound leads and events
  • Grow the team through recruiting, onboarding, and training
  • Create a successful and repeatable scalable outbound strategy. Identify and make recommendations around process, operations and efficiency
  • Focus on outcomes and impact. Monitor, analyse, and action on metrics such as quota attainment, reply rates, conversion rates to opportunities, close rates
  • Communicate progress and goals to team to drive consistent weekly performance
  • Work closely with sales managers and account executives to ensure opportunity quality and alignment segment strategies, campaigns and tactics
  • Align with sales and BDR enablement to build certification/training for BDRs
  • Work with marketing to align with inbound and outbound campaigns

You Must Have

  • 2+ years of experience managing a business development or sales team
  • 1+ years of experience in a BDR or sales role 
  • Proven track record of goal achievement as individual/manager
  • Passion for sales and business development and coaching; team player attitude 
  • Biased towards action - you identify challenges with a problem-solving mindset
  • Proven track record of hiring, retaining and developing individuals and team 
  • Impeccable organizational and time management skills. Ability to work in teams to develop strategies and action plans, and share results
  • High degree of motivation, energy, and creativity in a fast paced organization
  • Fluent in English

Nice to Have

  • Experience in managing and aligning KPIs for a BDR organization
  • Experience in building certification/training programs for BDRs or sales organisations
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and penetration testing; familiarity with the roles and structures of security/engineering/developer departments 
  • Superior knowledge in SFDC operations. Experience with sales management and lead gen software tools (SFDC, Linkedin, ZoomInfo, Salesloft, etc)
  • Understanding of best practices around sales process and operations - preferably within a direct, B2B outbound sales environment
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Fluent in German
