Reporting to OpenSea’s Head of Communications, our Communications Associate will work across all Communications portfolios to help organize, execute, and report on the impact of the Comms team. This is an incredible opportunity for a thoughtful, strategic, junior communications professional who is innately curious, excited about rapid career growth, and eager to take on many new Communications responsibilities. The perfect candidate has had either agency or in-house Communications experience, thrives in a high-speed environment, and exemplifies OpenSea’s principles of trust, inclusivity and diversity.
ResponsibilitiesHelp develop and maintain team documentation, including: editorial calendars, planning docs, coverage reports, meeting agendas, recommendation memos.- Help create OpenSea’s first media kit.- Develop executive prep docs and internal memos in partnership with managers and senior leaders.- Develop industry analysis and research, to brief the team on industry-impacting issues/competitors.- Develop media lists, pitch notes and other media materials for outreach.- Manage team reporting and ad hoc coverage analyses; help onboard vendors for measurement and reporting.- Maintain and/or project manage team documentation, including: our editorial calendar, coverage tracker, team calendars.- Refine media relations skills, building a bank of consistent relationships with key press contacts, and  actively pitching media based on portfolio objectives.- Craft effective written communications across a variety of formats including internal emails, pitch notes, prep docs, blog posts and corporate announcements. - Proactively flag ideas: story ideas, campaign ideas and opportunities for process improvement.- Develop strong project management skills in partnership with managers. Begin building frameworks for independent project management at the next level.
Desired Experience- Direct Communications or journalism experience, preferably in either an agency or in-house environment.- Passion and excitement for the world of web3, and a desire to learn and become and expert on NFTs specifically.- Excellent writing, communication, organizational, editing and project management skills. Knowledge of grammar, proofing, publication production and AP style necessary.- Clear verbal communication and the ability to present ideas and analysis to team members.- Extremely collaborative and low ego. Gives and receives feedback well, and isn’t afraid to raise their hand to propose new ideas and ways of working.- Solutions-oriented communicator. Comes to the table with fresh ideas and solutions when presenting issues and roadblocks.
