The Cloud Security Solutions Architect will lead the design, development, and implementation of AWS Infrastructure and Application security architectures for protecting Treasure Data and our SaaS platform. This position will directly contribute to the overall global enterprise cloud architecture and lead the security vision and strategy across all components of the AWS Infrastructure, Treasure Data Services, and integration of 3rd party services into the Treasure Data SaaS platform.
The Security & Trust team charter is to secure Treasure Data by influencing and working alongside strategic partners across the company and to build and grow our cloud products and services at the speed of the business. The Cloud Security Solutions Architect will serve as the central point of contact within Security & Trust for other Technology teams across the organization for all matters related to cloud security and report into the Head of Security. A successful candidate possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to partner with other leaders across the business to identify opportunities and risks, and develop and deliver solutions that support business strategies and protect Organization intellectual property globally.
The ideal candidate should be an experienced and innovative security professional with exceptional stakeholder management skills and who has the ability to advise and deliver strategic outcomes across a wide range of industry sectors and challenging environments. The position requires broad industry experience and will have high visibility at the most senior levels of customer organizations and Treasure Data senior leadership.

  • Design, develop and deliver security solutions to protect the cloud infrastructure in support of the SaaS platform. Based on security requirements, design and implement cloud-native architectures and designs that will allow those requirements to be met with a minimal degree of risk to Organization and with appropriate security controls present
  • Work with internal and external technical and executive stakeholders as a trusted advisor, partner, and as-required implementer with solutions covering enterprise security architecture, next-gen firewall, next-gen endpoint, cloud security, identity, and security/network orchestration and automation
  • Build in-depth knowledge of stakeholders business, technical priorities, challenges, and initiatives mapping them to Security & Trust’s core offerings and competencies
  • Represents Security Platform in development and implementation of the overall enterprise cloud architecture. Acts as the ambassador and senior technical representative for Security & Trust while engaging with other senior technical leaders throughout the organization in design and implementation of cloud based implementations and solutions. Works with Engineering, Product, and IT Ops organizations to choose appropriate technology solutions and facilitates complete integration into the company environments
  • Identify current and desired states that will drive the security roadmap of the platform
  • Lead the conversation on Security & Trust with large Treasure Data internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure proposed solutions, when implemented, meet stakeholders needs and operational requirements
  • Lead initiatives designed to share knowledge across Security Platforms and/or Technology teams. Identifies, recommends, coordinates, and delivers timely knowledge to support teams regarding technologies, processes or tools


  • Highly technical and analytical, possessing 15 or more years of Security/Engineering Implementation experience
  • Experience architecting and building solutions within Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Hands-on technical expertise in Security Architecture, automation, integration, and deployment (Secure DevOps)
  • Experience with assessment, development, implementation, optimization, and documentation of a comprehensive and broad set of security technologies and processes: secure software development, data protection, cryptography, key management, identity and access management (IAM), network security in SaaS companies
  • Working knowledge of common and industry standard cloud-native/cloud-friendly authentication mechanisms (OAuth, OpenID, etc)
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture for cloud-based services
  • Experience performing threat modeling and design reviews to assess security implications and requirements for introduction of new technologies
  • Experience representing technical viewpoints to diverse audiences and in making timely and prudent technical risk decisions
  • Experience with enterprise architecture and working as part of a cross-functional team to implement solutions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction; self-starter/self-motivated
  • Ability to lead client meetings and internal cross-team projects
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Experience working directly with customers, partners or third party vendors and developers
  • Technical writing experience
  • Fluent in Japanese
  • BS level technical degree, M.Sc. preferred

Desirable skills

  • Familiarity with compliance & security standards across the enterprise Security landscape desired
  • Deep understanding of enterprise risk management methods and techniques to drive successful outcomes in a multi-national environment desired
  • CISSP and alike preferred but not required
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
