  • Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) seeks a motivated and creative Assistant Producer who will be responsible for supporting and coordinating branded content, social films, videos and commercials, with a strong focus on abortion access video needs. The Assistant Producer will support the production team with administrative needs such as assisting with the organization of digital assets, maintaining and updating department databases and creating project completion reports. Assistant Producer will help support in production partner searches and at times vendor outreach. The Assistant Producer will support with some editorial, captioning and video finishing. Assistant Producer will help guide internal teams on various phases of video production and provide clear updates to teams. Assistant Producer should be a proactive, clear communicator, with a strong desire to learn. This role will require a person who is passionate about work centered on access to abortion and who is able to think creatively while coordinating logistics and ensuring the highest production standards are achieved.


  • Approaches work from a creative and logistical point of view through all phases of video production.
  • Organizes and updates the team’s best practices and external facing documents and decks.
  • Ensures that digital databases are up-to-date and asset databases are organized.
  • Creates caption files, tags and finishes all in-house abortion access and advocacy videos supporting other video editorial needs for the production team.
  • Creates deliverable documents outlining finishing specs and aspect ratios based on distribution plans and seeks internal alignment on deliverables list.
  • Coordinates all Spanish caption translations with internal teams.
  • Supports producers and helps communicate timelines, budgets, deliverables, DEI requirements, goals, and expectations with internal team members and external partners.
  • Brings creative ideas and solutions to administrative responsibilities.
  • Researches production resources with a focus on partners who can help deliver projects on time, on spec, and on budget.
  • Takes the lead on all production wrap digital organization; including uploading final project files, completing production completion reports, ensuring invoices for abortion access projects have been shared with appropriate teams and filed for future reference.
  • Ensures all deliverables and assets adhere to standards and manages QC through post and delivery.

  • Stays current on information relating to abortion access and advocacy issues.
  • Follows industry and technology trends and fosters innovative production solutions.
  • Works closely with team members in supporting production planning, executing and monitoring assigned productions and deliverables.
  • Proactively identifies production risks and alerts appropriate team members when needed.
  • Can easily navigate working and producing remotely.
  • Positive attitude, open approach to feedback and willingness to roll-up your sleeves

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Basic knowledge of video, film, and photo production processes and best practices.
  • Feels confident supporting creative development and unique production executions.
  • Knowledge of content for various platforms; with a focus on digital, social content, branded films, and experiential.
  • Ability to contribute and assist productions remotely and stay digitally organized.
  • Solid equity lens, including an understanding of how oppression impacts people’s ability to access their sexual and reproductive health and rights.
  • Strong written, verbal and virtual communication skills.
  • Likes to problem solve and jumps in to help when needed.
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment, often juggling multiple projects at a time, sometimes outside of regular office hours.
  • Keen attention to detail and strong work ethic.

Starting salary: $63K

Final offers for this job will be based on capabilities and will be made within the parameters of the PPFA compensation program. Total offer package to include generous vacation + sick leave + paid holidays, individual/family provided medical, dental and vision benefits effective day 1, life insurance, short/long term disability, paid family leave and 401k. We also offer voluntary opt in for Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Transportation/Commuter accounts.
