Context of the Role:

  • One of the initiatives identified by Stronger as key to delivering and expanding high-quality health care to our patients is designing and executing a market analysis strategy. The market analysis team utilizes data to help affiliates make more informed business decisions, with the goal of strengthening and expanding access to care, increasing equitable health outcomes, and ensuring financial sustainability across Stronger affiliates. Stronger seeks a Market Analysis Lead to  promote the use of market analysis for key business decisions, oversee the team of market analysts and drive the development of key products, tools, and services to support affiliate needs. This role will be situated within the Stronger Change Office (SCO) and will report to the SCO Director.
  • Specifically, the Market Analysis Lead’s primary functions are to:

  • a)Lead the design and execution of the Stronger market analysis strategy.
  • b)Serve as a thought partner and subject matter expert to affiliates leaders on the role of market analysis in strategic business decisions
  • c)Supervise, mentor, and support a team of analysts and project managers. Lead hiring process for growing team.
  • d)Support data analytics needs of affiliates and Stronger Initiative Teams tied to market analysis, scenario planning, and business development.
  • e)Work with Stronger Change Analysts and Project Managers to collect, analyze, and communicate data and insights.
  • f)Coordinate and collaborate with a diverse group of executives and data teams with diverse goals and priorities, at the PPFA National Office and affiliates as required.

  • The role will work with diverse staff across the country to create and adhere to project plans to accomplish these goals. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and execution of the Stronger market analysis strategy.
  • Interpret market data to generate insights and work with affiliate clients to use data to inform  decision-making.
  • Develop products and processes to model donor and supporter engagement, key locations for placing new health centers, service expansion needs, opportunities for engaging new patients, etc.
  • Evaluate, acquire, and integrate new datasets into market analysis products
  • Leverage software and analytic/technical tools (such as Esri ArcGIS, PowerBI, and Tableau ).
  • Manage complex program activities including the day-to-day operational and tactical work.
  • Manage team of  4-8 analysts and project managers. Lead hiring process for growing team.
  • Establish tools and processes to measure, track, and report metrics for the Stronger Change Office and Stronger Project Initiatives.
  • Apply change management strategies to support adoption of new analytics tools and changes required by a project or initiative.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report process and outcome data to client affiliates as well as SCO leadership.
  • Strategically research evidence-based practices, promising practices, and new innovation solutions to address high priority affiliate needs
  • Identify and mitigate risks that can potentially impact  projects, escalating risks appropriately and defining best practices for proactively managing them in the future.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with a diverse group of executives and data teams with diverse goals and priorities.
  • Collaborate with relevant Affiliate and National Office Teams to align methodology and ways of working for analysis and report generation processes.
  • Partner with affiliate leadership to leverage analytics to support affiliate business case and growth objectives.
  • Plan, manage, and execute meetings of varying sizes to convey complex information, work through challenging topics, and facilitate stakeholder alignment.
  • Lead affiliate engagement and cross-functional working groups including affiliate staff, National Office teams, and external vendors/consultants.
  • Manage affiliate relationships with a balanced and multi-faceted approach, to include: superior customer service, relationship building, accurate application of scope of work tasks, negotiation of timelines, and the production of high-quality, timely work products.
  • Communicate with affiliates, Stronger Change Office colleagues, and National Office staff professionally and effectively and consistently employ a solutions-oriented, inclusive, communicative, and collaborative mentality,
  • Execute vendor/consultant engagements, ensuring effective contract management and performance to service targets.


  • Comfortable working with a distributed team, including telecommuters across the U.S.

Requirements and Technical Expertise:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience. 
  • Prior project management experience required.
  • Experience conducting market analyses to identify key geographies to locate new organizations and expand services.
  • Experience leading analytics strategy, reviewing and refining analysis conducted by team, and interpreting and presenting results to an executive audience.
  • Experience working with large data sets, procuring and managing data sets and data vendors as well as relevant analytic software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint required. Experience with Tableau or similar business intelligence tool(s) and Asana/Smartsheet or other project management tools preferred.
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS required.
  • Knowledge of the current healthcare landscape is preferred.
  • Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders, geographically and with a broad range of needs and interests.
  • Experience working with a racial equity and gender equity lens.
  • Knowledge of diverse groups, working within a multicultural workforce, and sensitivity and appreciation to cultural differences is required.

  • Understands the scope, tasks and assumptions that define their project; prioritizes tasks for the team based on relative importance, recognizes and communicates when timelines should be adjusted to meet scope.
  • Collaborative work style. Able to facilitate amongst diverse communities and individuals, both remote and in-person. 
  • Strong customer service orientation and skills.   
  • Familiarity and experience working with the diverse communities Planned Parenthood serves, including an appreciation for the assets of each community and understanding of the institutional barriers to health care that currently exist


  • This is a telecommuter position. The Market Analysis Lead will be expected to spend up to 25% of time traveling to meet with Stronger affiliates and other key stakeholders. Please note: All travel will be postponed until further notice given the COVID-19 pandemic.
Starting Salary: 115k
Final offers for this job will be based on capabilities and will be made within the parameters of the PPFA compensation program. Total offer package to include generous vacation + sick leave + paid holidays, individual/family provided medical, dental and vision benefits effective day 1, life insurance, short/long term disability, paid family leave and 401k. We also offer voluntary opt in for Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Transportation/Commuter accounts.
