As a member of our team, you will have a major impact on Zignal’s future success by being part of a team of the highly skilled Public Sector team to focus on new and existing account growth. You will partner closely with an Account Executive and Solution Consultant to create custom approaches using Zignal insights to offer strategic guidance to the correct purchaser within public sector prospects. You will be part investigative reporter, part analyst, part author and part sales person against a set of named accounts.  
What You Get To Do In This Role 
The Public Sector Business Development Representative will partner with the Public Sector team with a primary focus on achieving monthly and quarterly targets. They will contribute to the business development focus for the organization. This position will also be responsible for partnering with the account executives, solution consultants, customer success managers to grow existing accounts.

  • Be part of a high-caliber sales team to manage the top of funnel sales motions that support the Public Sector Account Executives
  • Contribute to overall business development strategy for the sales organization against named Government and Public Sector contacts and leveraging GSA contracts and other State and Local contracts 
  • Create custom approaches using Zignal insight to serve as door openers within Government and Public Sector accounts
  • Generate & qualify new business opportunities with targeted accounts and prospects
  • Research & prioritize strategic accounts within Government and Public Sector accounts (i.e. account mapping, org charts, buy cycles, competitive landscape)
  • Conduct high level conversations, and build relationships, with key contacts within Governmental agencies and Public Sector offices in target accounts
  • In coordination with marketing, execute account based marketing and sales strategy utilizing phone, email, social channels & in person interaction with prospects
  • Execute initial discovery conversations with prospects
  • The tools you’ll get to work with include: SFDC, Groove, Gong, Terminus, Leadfeeder, Linkedin, ZoomInfo, DocSend
  • Partner with our senior Public Sector Account Executives to help fill the sales pipeline while developing your Public Sector Sales skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree & 2-4 years sales experience (experience using analyst tools or generating insight is a plus) in the Public Sector, Federal and/or Government space 
  • Strategic prospecting experience, inside sales experience
  • Strong problem solving skills and understanding of business and industry issues
  • Comfort in employing discovery methods and questions to understand customer needs and align them to a Zignal Labs use case
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of SFDC and sales enablement tools, experience with analyst tools or other social listening platforms a plus
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills combined high integrity, grit and determination, and a self starter mentality
