We are looking for someone interested in contributing to a growing payments team by building processes related to merchant risk assessment, electronic payments fraud, and platform services pricing.We want independent thinkers and people dedicated to growth and new ideas who are also passionate about FinTech and payments platforms.Reporting to the VP & GM, Payments, the Business Operations Manager, Risk/Fraud/Pricing, Payments will be an essential contributor to the core Olo Pay team. You will help Olo achieve one of its strategic goals. You can work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. or at Olo's headquarters in NYC on the 82nd floor of One World Trade Center.

What You'll Do

  • Assess and implement processes and solutions to help mitigate risk associated with merchant onboarding and support, fraud, and chargebacks
  • Be the Merchant Risk Expert for all departments and related initiatives
  • Implement policy and processes for the Merchant Risk responsibility
  • Implement credit approval processes to make sure the creditworthiness of merchants aligns with Olo's tolerance.
  • Conduct analysis, investigation, justification and decisioning on new merchant applications.
  • Work with Product, Sales and Operational teams to resolve Merchant Risk issues and provide guidance on overall risk tolerance
  • Monitor important fraud related metrics (chargeback rates, false positives, chargeback win rates)
  • Develop processes and solutions to help reduce fraud and chargebacks
  • Leverage our performance data to come up with insights to develop fraud policies
  • Partner with other teams to implement fraud policies and features
  • Prepare reports, briefings and other written products to communicate performance findings, trends, benchmarking, and suggestions for improvements
  • Aid in the development of platform pricing
  • Identify areas of technological improvement and automation across an enterprise risk framework
  • Produce dashboards and reports to highlight fraud trends, with clear and understandable visuals
  • Prepare clear, data-based observations, reports and supporting work papers that reflect the investigative work performed and conclusions reached

What We'll Expect From You

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years experience in risk management, data security compliance, payments pricing or e-commerce fraud reduction programs
  • Knowledge of e-commerce payment flows, regulation, payment methods and payment processing systems
  • In-depth knowledge of fraud principles, procedures and trends of fraud and fraud prevention
  • Working knowledge of statistics and Excel (can perform complex functions) and Access applications


  • Familiarity with Zendesk, Jira, Looker, and Sequel
