The Visual Designer will help create design solutions that meet user needs. As the visual design expert on product teams, you will tackle visual challenges and provide support for Newsela’s product design, from visual direction to delivering concrete assets that are part of the same family of visuals -- whether on or off the product. You’ll be a visual design problem-solver who balances the need for clarity and aesthetics, and isn’t afraid to sweat the details.

You are skilled at your craft with 2+ years of experience translating conceptual ideas into thoughtful visual designs to help solve problems. You have incredible taste and pixel-perfect standards across various platforms (iOS, Android and Web). You geek out on coming up with the perfect affordances, transitions, latest web and mobile patterns, but always use accessibility guidelines and usability findings to inform your design decisions. You are familiar with the fundamentals of front end code and latest prototyping tools. Whether working in-house or at an agency, you’re used to juggling multiple projects at once, and can effectively communicate and deliver quality designs on-time.
