We are looking for an Engineering Manager to grow and run our Application team within the Customer Intelligence and Front of House organization.
We want people who are passionate about building top performing teams and driving execution involving different product areas and multiple projects through small pods / teams.
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Engineering Manager, Application will build, grow, and run the Application team. The Application team can be viewed as the builders of differentiated, value added apps on our Platform. The team manages four product areas which are the Host App (iOS and web), Marketing Automation, Sentiment, and Growth (Tooling and Onboarding). There is tremendous opportunity to grow this team into its own organization with individual teams and team leaders.
You can work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. or at Olo's headquarters in NYC on the 82nd floor of One World Trade Center.

What You’ll Do

  • Strategize with other leaders and partners on your team's quarterly roadmap
  • Lead the team as they work towards the planned roadmap while removing impediments to the team's progress
  • Communicate with Product, executive partners, and the greater Engineering team on roadmap progress, track metrics, and achieve results
  • You'll remain technical through facilitating technical roadmap conversations and decisions and driving the team to their best technical abilities.
  • Hire great talent and grow your team while also developing tech leads and team leads
  • Support the team. Develop your staff through 1:1s, mentoring, and targeted growth plans.

What We’ll Expect From You

  • 3+ years experience in a similar role
  • Experience managing different product areas and small pods/teams
  • Experience hiring and developing individuals on your team
  • Experience with writing and collaborating on roadmaps including product features and engineering improvements
  • Experience with performance management and driving your team to delivery on the roadmap
  • Experience managing remote teams
  • Empathy and concern for team and individual outcomes

Nice to Have

  • Past engineering experience in web development esp. with Javascript technologies like Node.js
  • Experience managing iOS and web teams
  • Experience growing leaders

Customer Intelligence & FOH organization’s Tech Stack

  • Languages: Javascript, Typescript
  • Frameworks: Vue, Node
  • Datastores: PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch
  • Deployment: Kubernetes, Helm
