Senior Director, Global Employment Counsel

SecurityScorecard, Inc. is looking for an organized, detail-oriented, highly-motivated, and good-humored team player to join our growing Team Legal and build out our global employment function. This position will report to our VP, Legal, and will work closely with all members of Team Legal along with other cross-functional departments to support the company’s continued growth and international expansion. Though you will focus on the company’s employment matters, you will also have exposure to a broad range of corporate, commercial and regulatory matters and strategic initiatives.

About the role & what you will do:

  • Actively and strategically manage a broad range of global employment issues, including recruitment, hiring, terminations, compensation, accommodations, leaves of absence, and employee classification.
  • Maintain and drive improvements to the company’s employment-related agreements, including offer letters, severance agreements, confidentiality agreements, and independent contractor agreements.
  • Provide strategic guidance and advice with respect to employment laws and requirements in multiple jurisdictions in which the company operates both domestically and internationally.
  • Provide strategic guidance and advice on employee benefits and compliance-related matters (domestic and international).
  • Assist our HR business partners in creating, implementing, and delivering policies, processes, and trainings related to global employment and benefits matters.
  • Support immigration matters in consultation with external immigration consultants.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience, JD, licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex employment issues with a focus on solutions and superior internal customer support without sacrificing quality.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport and trust within Team Legal and with other business team partners.
  • Excellent judgement, attention to detail and pragmatism in balancing risks.
  • Able to work well under deadlines in a fast-paced emerging growth company environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.
  • Comfortable handling tasks and answering questions that are unfamiliar.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Prior in-house employment experience for a company with international operations.
  • Experience representing technology and/or emerging growth companies.
  • Public company experience.
