As an Accounting Manager, you will own key day-to-day accounting operations, implement new processes, and gain exposure to all areas of our company. Our Accounting team is responsible for building scalable and dependable accounting processes and valuable financial reporting. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, you will also partner with key internal teams to drive operational efficiencies and help scale the entire Finance team as we grow. What you'll do:

  • Own day-to-day accounting processes for both US and Canada entities, including but not limited to Payroll, month close, reconciliations, etc. to build operational muscle for the entire business
  • Responsible for accurate and timely US and Canada payroll processes, including employee stock grants and option exercises
  • Prepare payroll related accruals, including bonus and commissions, and prepare account reconciliations for the month-end close
  • Partner with the People and Legal teams to ensure all payroll data are inputted into the HRIS system appropriately
  • Review payment calculations as part of the onboarding and offboarding payroll processes
  • Partner with FP&A around monthly variance analysis, management reporting, and GAAP reporting
  • Review employee benefits and deductions are calculated and reported accurately with 3rd party providers
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax filings as required
  • Stay current with payroll, compensation, and time off regulations / law changes
  • Collaborate with department leads to develop and improve payroll processes and system implementations, identify problems and process gaps, and field interpretation questions
  • Interact with external auditors, third-party resources, or other service vendors to arrive at win-win scenarios for the company and partners

Who you are:

  • 4+ years of accounting experience as a manager
  • Experience with employee payroll activities
  • Strong communicator both written and verbal as well as strong attention to detail
  • Be able to interface cross-functionally within the organization
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic environment, change priorities quickly, meet tight deadlines, and quickly learn new tools
  • You demonstrate a substantial commitment to advancing representation and inclusion

Nice to haves:

  • CPA highly preferred
  • Big 4 experience is a big plus
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP) such as Netsuite
  • Experience working with Rippling or other similar Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
