Billing Operations Manager (Remote)

Wonolo is looking for a Billing Operations Manager to manage the Order to Cash function, launch, train, and scale the financial relationships for key Wonolo business partners. In this role, you will be the subject matter expert in all customer-facing interactions, from contract onboarding and review to billing setup and collection efforts. You will join a team that loves the Wonolo mission, business strategy, building new opportunities, and growing relationships. You will be on the leading edge of helping shape the future of work.

What you'll do:

  • Manage the Accounts Receivable team and daily billing process for invoicing customers, including resolving customer disputes, researching billing discrepancies, and applying billing adjustments
  • Provide accounting/billing support through the creation of financial reports, tracking of payment terms, and management of the financial experience for our customers
  • Develop healthy financial relationships with the key financial stakeholders at partner organizations. 
  • Build trust and transparency with our customer base to increase customer retention and drive growth. 
  • Develop and own the process for educating, training, and onboarding new internal and external stakeholders to maximize their Wonolo experience
  • Work cross-functionally with the internal teams to ensure a smooth onboarding, billing, and collections process for our high-value customers
  • Evaluate and analyze the customer's financial experience to provide internal feedback on product opportunities and process improvements
  • Support accounting month-end close, including but not limited to producing Accounts Receivable aging reports and calculating unbilled Accounts Receivable accruals
  • Assist with external audits and produce supporting documentation for audit purposes

Who you are:

  • 5+ years of accounting, billing, or customer success experience
  • Experience with high-volume invoicing and collections
  • Strong business acumen and relationship management skills
  • Highly analytical, strategic thinker, and data-driven, but also a creative problem solver
  • Experience working with contractual agreements
  • Ability to make thoughtful, actionable recommendations under minimal structure, and quickly build consensus with internal and external stakeholders
  • Basic understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Knowledge over new revenue recognition standard (ASC 606)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP) such as Netsuite
  • Knowledge of customer service practices and experience managing customer experience operations
  • You demonstrate a substantial commitment to advancing representation and inclusion
