In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, we have launched a new service: Concentric by Ginkgo. We firmly believe that testing is an essential requirement to re-open the economy as quickly and safely as possible. Concentric is the largest provider of K-12 COVID-19 testing. We currently run state-level K-12 testing programs in more than 10 states and some of the nation’s largest school districts. To date, Concentric has sequenced more than 10,000 samples from a variety of sample types, in support of public health. As Manager/Associate Director, Commercial Operations - Lab Network, your role will be integral to the continued success of Concentric by Ginkgo and our biosecurity efforts.
Please note: This position can be primarily remote/residence-based, but is expected to report onsite to our Boston offices on occasion, for an estimated 20% of the time for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate on-boarding of new lab vendors and on-going operations of the Concentric laboratory vendor network 
  • Design laboratory validation panels and collection material qualifications; evaluate laboratory data against performance acceptance criteria
  • Work with internal teams such as Delivery Operations and Compliance to ensure on-going vendor laboratory technical and operational performance; collaborate with vendor laboratories on corrective action needs
  • Represent Concentric by Ginkgo in vendor laboratory contract discussions and on-going alliance management
  • Coordinate with internal teams to launch new product offerings supported by vendor laboratories
  • Adapt approaches as needed to meet technical, regulatory, and business needs based on modality, location, and client needs

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, analytical chemistry, or related field, with at least 7 years of industrial experience; or PhD with at least 2 years of industrial experience
  • Industrial experience within a clinical/bioanalytical laboratory environment and/or managing vendor laboratories
  • Analytical experience with qPCR, sequencing, or related analytical techniques, and experience with method validation in CLIA environment, or similar
  • Experience with contract management, negotiations, and/or alliance management
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of effectively conveying information between cross-functional teams
  • Process and relationship-oriented mindset, with acute attention to detail and the ability to evolve operations in a collaborative manner to meet changing business needs
  • High level of comfort in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Capabilities and Experience

  • Experience with international markets is a plus
