The Organizing and Training team is charged with leading and developing supporters, patient advocates, and volunteers in engaging in national campaigns to build a powerful movement for sexual and reproductive freedom. This role focuses on supporting design of training programs for federation wide staff. This role is responsible for supporting the Training Programs by designing training content, managing training reports and data, and overseeing the departments training calendar. The Training Manager is a skilled project manager with a strong training and program evaluation background eager to work in a fast paced and dynamic work environment to reach our shared campaign goals. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Deputy Director in designing and creating national and affiliate staff facing training materials utilizing a Direct Education approach, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy and electoral organizing skills and frameworks. 
  • Manage logistical responsibilities to conduct virtual and in person the training events.
  • Manages training data and quarterly reports, ensuring strong data is captured and housed from all training events and evaluated to inform future training content and overall program success.
  • Manages national training calendar and training request intake process.
  • Supports Deputy Director in conducting a bi-annual affiliate professional development grant program.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive campaign and/or advocacy experience preferred.
  • Must be a self-starter with strong communication and interpersonal skills; strong commitment to internal and external customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement program tracking systems is a must.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously is a must. 
  • Experience working in BIPOC communities with extensive knowledge of diversity, equity, inclusion, and sensitivity/appreciation to cultural differences is required.
  • Experience working with a membership organization or affiliate based organization is preferred.
  • Demonstrated training management and training design experience centering race equity is required.
  • Commitment to adhering to guidelines and procedures, attention to detail, showing progress towards goals, and follow-through.
  • Computer, writing and reporting skills is a must.  

Skills or Related Knowledge:

  • Experience working at a Planned Parenthood affiliate is a major plus.
  • Experience working in the sexual and reproductive movement is a plus.
  • Experience using EveryAction/VAN is a plus.
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust campaign priorities or goals. 
Starting Salary: 75k
Final offers for this job will be based on capabilities and will be made within the parameters of the PPFA compensation program.
