In March of 2021, Olo launched Olo for Good, which is an initiative focused on fostering a sustainable contribution to the communities in which we live, work, and service by integrating social responsibility and impact into our business. As part of this initiative, we joined the Pledge 1% movement committing one percent of Olo's time, product, and equity to Olo for Good initiatives.
As the Director, ESG Strategy, you will solidify our ESG strategy, scale and develop our ESG programs, and oversee our reporting, communications and disclosures.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about using Olo's resources to champion our Olo for Good mission including advancing all aspects of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging; providing relief and support for the restaurant industry and its front-line workers; ending childhood hunger and increase access to food; and promoting an approach which protects natural resources and reduces waste and emissions.

What You'll Do

  • Work with our leadership team to define, lead, and advance our ESG vision and strategy
  • Drive internal connections and implementation across functional teams, the Olo for Good Committee, our Employee Resource Groups, and our DEI Committee
  • Work with vendors, customers, partners, and industry contacts on Olo's ESG programs and reporting goals
  • Lead our work on completing an ESG materiality assessment, ESG roadmap and our first ESG Report
  • Establish and implement measurements and reporting for our ESG programs based on sustainability reporting standards and reporting frameworks
  • Oversee ESG communications and content for employees, investors, customers, partners, and other stakeholders working with Olo's Marketing, Investor Relations, and Corporate Legal teams
  • Partner with Legal, Marketing, and Investor Relations to develop content, messaging, and reporting for ESG disclosures
  • Monitor, evaluate, and educate Olo teams on ESG trends, best practices, and requirements
  • Work with the Legal team to communicate ESG priorities, programs, and progress to the Board and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee
  • Ensure our ESG efforts are reflected in RFI/RFP responses
  • Help complete annual submissions to third-party ESG rankings and rating agencies

What We'll Expect from You

  • Passionate about the restaurant industry and non-profit organizations focused on supporting the restaurant industry, DE&IB, food accessibility, and the environment
  • Deep understanding of third-party ESG ratings (e.g., MSCI, ISS, CDP), financial reporting and sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., SASB and TCFD), and public company disclosures (e.g., Sustainability Reports, 10-Ks, proxy statements, earnings materials)
  • 5+ years of professional experience within Environmental, Social & Corporate Governance (ESG), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Sustainability or a related field
  • 5+ years of consulting, client management, investor relations and/or project management experience
