The Underwriter is responsible for determining credit risk for clients related to the Emburse credit product.

What You'll Do:

  • Underwrite business credit card deals by evaluating both quantitative and qualitative data, ensuring credit worthiness 
  • Ensure information on the application is accurate and complete; reach out to clients for missing information on the application
  • Periodically conduct credit risk reviews on existing clients, ensuring compliance with the current credit risk policy
  • Review financial/bank statements to determine fundamental financial ratios and credit worthiness
  • Communicate credit product details and decisions with internal and external parties
  • Work with sales managers to determine and seek credit opportunities
  • Own and maintain credit portfolio 

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or equivalent
  • Minimum 2-3 years of credit risk, commercial underwriting, or financial analysis experience
  • Knowledge of DnB and other commercial credit bureaus
  • Familiarity with banking regulations and global markets is a plus
  • Strong understanding of credit risk models such as loss given default, probability of default, and expected loss
  • Deep understanding of financial ratios, financial analysis 
  • Knowledge of anti-money laundering practices, including Kyc/Kyb 
  • Ability to read the three financial statements and make manual underwriting decisions
