SUMMARY This is a fantastic opportunity to assume a key role working with our most strategic customers and leading multi-cloud pursuits here at Rackspace in the Americas.  As a Strategic Engagements Executive, you will have accountability for origination and pursuit of complex deals across our existing install base together with designated new logo prospects.  You will build and lead cross-functional teams to develop the value propositions that distinguish Rackspace from the competition.  You will consult with key stakeholders (internal and external) to develop and present world-class proposals that help our customers achieve their stated missions.


  • Partners with Senior Client and Acquisition Executives to oversee, lead, and/or contribute to strategic pursuits for multi-cloud, customers from identification through implementation and full customer support.
  • Defines and manages the pursuit plan, timeline deliverables, and goals.
  • Gathers and collaborates with internal resources so that consistent, aligned solutions are presented to potential customers.
  • Leads the negotiation and documentation of customer contracts.
  • Drives accountability and timely production of deliverables.
  • Ensures communication plan is implemented and both internal and external stakeholders receive the necessary information for successful deal pursuit.
  • Develops processes to drive early identification and resolution of issues.
  • Conducts analysis of each pursuit and develops best practices; knowledge shares with stakeholders in the strategic pursuit, support, and sales organization.
  • Sells to upper to high-level, up to C-Suite, management.
  • Decisions impact the achievement of customer, operational, program, or service objectives.
  • Demonstrates strong judgment and creativity in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles.
  • Solves complex problems and takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
  • Leads the analysis and solution of business problems regarding operations, products, services, or customers.
  • Drives cross-functional collaboration to give potential customers a seamless experience across Rackspace through sales, implementation and onboarding, and Account Management hand-off.
  • Gathers and collaborates with internal resources (Specialist Sellers, Portfolio Architects, Specialized Architects, Pro Serv) so that consistent, aligned solutions are presented to potential customers.
  • Shares knowledge with stakeholders in strategic pursuit, support, and sales organization.
