Matterport is looking to hire a Director of Accounts Receivable who loves to mentor a team, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and builds and scales the organization. You will oversee the billings, credits, and collections cycle.  You will spend a portion of your time rolling up your sleeves and diving into details to master the team's core responsibilities.  You will be a cross-departmental leader, visionary, and strategist who will implement scalable procedures and processes for the billings, credits, and collections cycle to support the company's rapid growth.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for verifying the financial status and overall creditworthiness of prospective customers, approving appropriate payment terms and other relevant contractual terms of sale.
  • Be a key driver in identifying, improving, and streamlining billings, credits, collections processes, and system automation.
  • Implement AR best practices and policies, including invoicing, credit processing, collections, AR analytics, and KPI reporting.
  • Play a critical role in the month-end close process, including preparing/reviewing and approving journal entries, reconciliations, and fluctuation analysis for accounts receivable and related balance sheet accounts.
  • Responsible for investigation of fraud cases, delinquent bills, and recommendations for appropriate actions.
  • Develop and foster a strong partnership with Sales and Customer Support teams.
  • Facilitate resolution and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls over accounts receivable, collection, and related systems.
  • Support audit requests and interface with auditors.
  • Participate in ad hoc or special projects as required.

Who you are:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in billing, credit assessment, collection, and AR management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Detailed-oriented, excellent problem-solving skills, with a strong emphasis on developing frameworks and processes that can be scaled and automated
  • Experience with Salesforce, Zuora, and NetSuite is strongly preferred. Ability to effectively operate in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to change
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels at the company
