The goal of the Virtual Interlining team is to guarantee that our customers will get the best flight prices and selection when booking through Hopper. We aim to make air travel more accessible by constructing a more robust, unique, and cheaper flight inventory selection that users cannot find anywhere else. We do this by building sophisticated flight search technology to solve complex travel planning and pricing problems and construct new itineraries that improve savings on flights for our customers.
We’re seeking an exceptional product manager with deep technical expertise and strategic, data-driven product acumen to champion product development for Hopper’s Virtual Interlining team.
On any given day - whether you’re defining KPIs, designing hypothesis-driven experiments, or diving deep to identify opportunities to improve price savings for our customers - your involvement and decisions will be critical to the success of our Virtual Interlining team. 
Product managers at Hopper are “smart creatives” who obsess over the customer and use data to create best-in-class products. You are a scrappy, creative, technically-minded, hands-on “doer” who is equally comfortable talking about algorithms and system design with engineers as you are conducting your own analyses to solve real customer problems and create unique value. You will need to dive deep into the data and develop an understanding of the competitive travel landscape to ground the basis for new product features.


  • Launch the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the team, and work with key stakeholders to deliver on that vision (e.g. product teams, international market leaders, revenue leaders across different business units and core platform teams).
  • Define strategic objectives and technical goals for the team, and lead execution and research designed to achieve them.
  • Navigate a highly ambiguous and complex product environment to produce meaningful customer and business impact.
  • Make high-judgement decisions independently in ambiguous situations; and translate data into digestible business intelligence and actionable insights.
  • Monitor key performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement in produce performance. 
  • Dive deep into the data and establish new areas of tangible & metric-driven improvement.
  • Thrive on the day-to-day collaboration with engineers, data scientists, and other product managers, reaching across team boundaries to make the right things happen.


  • A passion for Hopper’s mission to build the most customer-centric travel marketplace on Earth
  • At least 3 years working in a product management or product ownership role, preferably with relevant experience or background in a technical domain (data/computer science, engineering)
  • Technical depth to enable productive collaboration with world-class engineers and data scientists
  • Highly proficient analytical abilities to draw accurate conclusions from data and adjust strategy accordingly
  • Obsessive focus on the details in planning, evaluating, and building products
  • Strong ability to grasp, manage, and articulate complex systems
  • A track record of evaluating product initiatives via both qualitative logic and quantitative assessment
  • Excellent writing skills to construct compelling business cases both in-person and in-writing
  • No ego. Strong focus on doing what is right for the customer and the company

- Based on its current run rate, Hopper is pacing towards 330% revenue growth compared to last year, and it has already surpassed its pre-pandemic revenue peak from Q1 2020 by over 100%.

- The company is on track to surpass $1.5 billion in travel sales this year, with 40% coming from the hotel and car rental categories. 
- Hopper’s fintech offerings, such as Price Freeze and Rebooking Guarantee, now represent 50% of its revenue. 
- Given the success of its travel fintech, Hopper recently launched a B2B initiative called Hopper Cloud, where any travel provider can unlock a totally unique revenue stream by seamlessly integrating and offering Hopper’s travel fintech. The industry opportunity for Hopper Cloud is enormous as projections estimate that if all travel distribution channels offered travel fintech, it could increase the total consumer spend for the sector by $200 billion annually.
