Linux Operations Engineer Rackspace is looking for a Linux Administrator to work on our multi-tenant email platform. This team is responsible for the design, development, testing and deployment to a variety of email subsystems. These systems are responsible for sending and receiving hundreds of millions of messages per day and providing access to petabytes of email message data for millions of users.  
• Automate regular tasks to streamline system maintenance• Develop optimizations for system performance and future scalability• Diagnose and fix complex server and system wide issues• Collaborate with other engineers, testers and software developers to ensure smooth rollouts, continual operation and fanatical support of quality software• Handle support ticket escalations for issues requiring production systems access• Perform periodic on-call duties as part of a DevOps team
Experience/ Education:
• Requires a minimum of 2+ years of administration experience in a Linux/Unix environment• Professional experience in Linux system administration and configuration• Experience installing, configuring and securing RHEL, CentOS, or derivative
Nice to Have:

• Scripting language development experience (Bash, Python, Ruby, Perl, etc.)• Experience building and packaging software for deployments using meta package managers (Yum, Apt-Get, etc.)• Familiarity with Internet email protocols (POP, IMAP, SMTP) and email architecture• Experience installing and configuring IMAP/POP email servers (Dovecot, Courier, etc.)• Experience installing and configuring mail transport agents (Postfix, Sendmail, Momentum, etc.)• Experience using a configuration management system (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, etc.)• Experience working with a large-scale system (1000+ servers)• Experience with relational databases (preferably MySQL)• Experience with non-relational databases (preferably Redis, Cassandra and Solr)• Experience with message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.)• Experience with Linux logging services (Syslog-ng, Flume, etc.)
