CaDRE is a consulting and troubleshooting team at Xero, focused on Data Reliability Engineering. We are passionate about scalable and performant software. We provide real time support to Xero’s customer facing applications and now, as we scale up Xero’s data platforms, have started developing world class tooling too. 
We need talented software engineers, database engineers or testers to join us in tackling the unique challenges of working at Xero’s worldwide scale.

What you'll do:

  • Resolve issues - Triage and solve development and production issues, and support tracking down root causes. Communicate impacts of any problem to stakeholders in terms of business value, helping to set a priority for resolution.
  • Incident and crisis response - When you have settled into the role, you’ll work with other CaDRE engineers on emerging incidents and problems in production, supporting other engineering teams in restoring availability.
  • Consult and advise - Actively build relationships with teams in CaDRE’s domain, guiding them through improvement opportunities and providing advice on the future stability, scalability and reliability of their services.
  • Continuous professional development - Always be growing, always be learning. You’ll develop a range of skills across multiple disciplines and expertise in one or more programming languages and ecosystem specific technologies.
