The RoleAs the leader of the Solutions Marketing team, you will manage and lead a team of industry solution marketers to define our GTM strategy, messaging, and content for 10+ verticals.  This role will report into the Senior Director of Product and Solutions Marketing. We are looking for an experienced leader with exceptional industry, solutions, and product marketing strategy, communication, and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with Medailla’s GTM teams that include industry solution principals, field and campaign marketing, sales, professional services, and product marketing. As part of the Strategy and Product Marketing organization at Medallia, you and the team will drive the go-to-market strategy for marketing programs, sales enablement, competitor intelligence, and pipeline support. You are collaborative in nature, a true team player, that builds strong cross-functional relationships. You are passionate about helping your team grow and succeed. 

Responsibilities

  • Set the vision and strategy for Solutions Marketing. Outline a clear and vivid plan to accomplish shared, strategic objectives for your solution areas with input from stakeholders across the business. Created defined roles and responsibilities for the team and work with adjacent groups to ensure alignment.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of solution marketers. Regularly provide feedback and mentorship to all direct reports. Establish motivating stretch objectives for team members that align with company objectives. 
  • Tell a meaningful and differentiated story for each industry. Develop concise, compelling messaging that emphasizes business value and differentiation and create aligning use cases. Enable the team to become experts on our industry-specific buyers, who they are, how they buy and their key buying criteria. 
  • Create compelling and easy-to-consume content. Develop marketing materials and website content for your product portfolio by working with internal and external team members to create compelling content (e.g., presentations, brochures, videos, eBooks, infographics, blog posts, web copy, email content etc.).
  • Drive revenue by supporting marketing and sales teams. Conceive and execute customer base communications and marketing programs to upsell and cross-sell solutions. Work with Global Campaigns, Field and Partner Marketing to execute on and track success of the lead generation campaigns, nurture programs, and funnel optimization programs.
  • Enable internal and external stakeholders. Educate and enable Medallia’s Sales and Services teams, along with strategic partners, to be able to confidently communicate the value and competitive differentiation of our Digital Suite. Educate and enable Medallia customers and users on the value of our platform
  • Lead the marketing strategy and execution of positioning, sales plays, and content for 1-2 verticals while providing guidance to a team of 3 direct reports.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Marketing and/or Strategy roles with demonstrated increase in responsibilities over time
  • At least 2 years of People Management experience, managing at least 2 direct reports
  • Excellent understanding of go-to-market strategies and marketing methodologies
  • Successful track record of marketing industry software solutions to users and buyers and creating narratives to position and sell products in compelling ways
  • Successful track record driving revenue impact with B2B enterprise sales teams
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • B2B marketing experience within the enterprise software industry
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver results, and initiate and forge trusting relationships across a diverse team
  • Consistent track record of performing well in a rapidly changing and high growth environment with proven ability to prioritize and differentiate what matters from the noise, meeting deadlines without sacrificing quality
  • Skilled in leading presentations and discussions with business, technical, and sales stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (e.g. presenting compelling narratives in public settings and to internal audiences)
  • Proven ability to identify risks, resolve issues, and communicate with stakeholders
  • Demonstrated initiative and follow-through managing concurrent projects
  • Can work cooperatively and professionally with others with all levels within the organization, customers, and vendors
  • History of recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and developing direct reportsExperience managing a fully remote team
