Job Purpose

The Senior Specialist, Logistics is a position that reports to the Associate Director, Supply Chain Operations.

The Senior Specialist, Logistics will utilize their prior hands-on experience to manage our third party logistics company and will possess an in-depth understanding of the inner workings of logistics and the freight market. This position will be responsible for monitoring shipping and delivery performance against KPI’s, analyzing logistics data, and liaising between fulfillment and logistics vendors.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage 3rd party logistics company to ensure service, quality, and cost control
  • Develop and deploy recurring reporting for key performance indicators such as on time delivery, rate compliance, and volume coverage
  • Review carrier performance data and identifies any issues that need escalation
  • Approve and track logistics vendor invoices and costs
  • As part of continuous improvement, seek out changes to current procedures to improve performance, raise efficiency, and minimize errors
  • Establish yourself as primary liaison between Great Minds and logistics vendor.
  • Proactively collaborate cross functionally within internal and external stakeholder
  • Maintain strong Supply & Demand knowledge for various modes of transportation to enable Great Minds to take prompt advantage of changes in market conditions.
  • Analyze, recommend, develop, and lead implementation of opportunities for improvement that optimize transportation
  • Respond to shipping complaints, lost items, and damages
  • Review carrier performance data and identifies any issues that need escalation
  • Schedule or attends calls with vendors on performance, including quarterly business reviews

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Analytics and/or Business management, Operations or similar field
  • 5+ years of experience in the logistics industry or related industry
  • Exceptional analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Experience in successfully managing and working with third party vendors
  • Comfortable with systems including WMS and logistics sites
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and demands
  • High degree of confidence in negotiating contracts and/or freight rates

  • Must be willing to travel at least once per month to visit warehouses

The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Colorado if selected for the role. For residents of the State of Colorado the expected salary range for this position is $38,436.78 – $43,890.00. This range may vary above and below the expected amounts in the State of Colorado. In addition to the Company's benefit offerings, the position may be eligible for additional annual incentives at the Company's discretion. Any offered salary and other incentives are based on market data, applicant skills and relevant experience, degrees, certifications and internal equity considerations.
