Filecoin Foundation - Let's build the internet of everyone

What is the Filecoin Foundation The Filecoin Foundation (FF) is an organization that facilitates governance of the Filecoin network, funds critical development projects, supports the growth of the Filecoin ecosystem, and advocates for Filecoin and the decentralized web. In 2017, the creators of Filecoin envisioned that an independent Filecoin Foundation would serve as the long-term governance body for the Filecoin Ecosystem. They gave the Foundation the mandate to “grow an open ecosystem for decentralized storage” and to “give developers an open and sustainable platform to build, enhance and monetize those services.” They wanted the Foundation to be modeled on Foundations for other open source projects like the Apache Software Foundation, the Mozilla Foundation and the Linux Foundation. The Filecoin Foundation operates independently of Protocol Labs, the organization that designed and built the Filecoin network. As a member of our early-stage team, you will have the opportunity to help define our growth as the organization scales. This is a full-time, remote position from anywhere in the world.
Job description and responsibilitiesFilecoin Foundation needs a program manager to help drive collaborative initiatives with our outside project partners. We aim to be active participants with these partners, so we help them with program design, technical support, project management, external communications, as well as other efforts. Your work will be a mix of stewarding these partnerships, building relationships between partners, and rolling up your sleeves as well to work towards our missions of decentralizing the internet and preserving humanity’s most important information.
Reporting to the Senior Fellow for Social Impact, the Program Manager is responsible for running the solicitation, selection, and management of social impact grants and programs. Day-to-day, the Program Manager can expect to engage with potential outside collaborators, lead sync calls with existing grantees and project partners, devise how our outside partners can better plug into our internal efforts, network with decentralized web experts to learn about evolutions in the field, and run large virtual gatherings to help chart the future of the decentralized web.

Ideally, you will assist with building out the social impact team and mentoring junior team members.
