The MIDAS team is a front-end platform team responsible for standards, tooling and shared front-end services for the core enterprise applications at Medallia. We help set front-end applications standards for areas like Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and accessibility. Our team’s tools, services and frameworks allow visibility into application health and performance, provide common utilities and an enhanced developer experience for building, testing, and deploying JavaScript and TypeScript. 
We are looking for an experienced and motivated senior software engineer to join our team. This is an opportunity to join an amazing team and have an impactful role in the way we create, build and evolve front-end applications at Medallia.

Responsibilities/Ownership:

  • Identify and build solutions for scalability, performance and developer front-end platforms
  • Build new microservices for integrations with various enterprise systems and services
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain new capabilities and features of Medallia’s Experience Cloud using Node.js/Java/Javascript based microservices and React.js based UIs
  • Work in an agile team environment with other SaaS experts
  • Improve the scale, quality, performance, and security of our core Medallia applications

Problems You Might Work On:

  • Create solutions for how to track GraphQL resolver performance in production and help the team understand performance bottlenecks.
  • Building new services and frameworks consumable by all Medallia front-end applications, such as for capturing performance metrics or page-level exporting
  • Help teams understand performance bottlenecks through debugging and tooling
  • Create tooling for developer workflows including visibility of test coverage, build times and bundle size

Qualifications:

  • Proven proficiency in Javascript
  • 5+ years of commercial industry experience working on complex back-end or web based, distributed systems or applications
  • 3+ years of experience building microservices using Node.js, preferably supporting GraphQL
  • 3+ years of experience
  • 1+ year of experience with NoSQL data store technologies such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or similar
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant technical field or equivalent professional experience  
  • Previous experience with agile process including ability to work in fast-paced and distributed teams, especially on enterprise product development
  • Experience with: TypeScript, NodeJS, GraphQL, Docker
  • An ownership mindset with quality orientation and DevOps experience
  • Knowledge of queuing technologies such as Kafka or similar
  • Knowledge of Redis, ElasticSearch
